Default Forced induction compression ratio

What is the highest "SAFE" compression ratio for a forced induction motor? I realize 8.5 or so is a better range.

I am thinking about swapping my 59 cc heads for a set of 72s and adding some sort of supercharger..

Any imput would be appreciated..

really depends on what power adder you are using and how much you plan to push it as well as what gas you want to run.

I had 9-1, 8-1, 8-5, and am looking to do about 9.5-1 on the next motor that may see a turbo, the jury is still out if that will materailize

All the above post assume there will be a piston swap. I have seen alot of Maggies and Prochargers on stock Zo6s.. Compression being about 10.5 -1.

I am "thinking" about 10-1 with the 72 cc heads... I fully understand this is not "optimum".. Is it "doable with a forged motor? If so,, how much boost w/b safe on pump gas?

Thanks again guys.

Like PSJ said a long time ago.. It's hard to make a V8 a powerless dog downlow... I say play it safe and just drop those points down, because it won't be too noticeable anyways... 8.3-9.0 TOPS. But I would go with 8.5
