Soooo close......
And no, my intercooler IS straight, but the tanks are tapered so it looks crooked. Its also very thick, very nice peice built by PTE. I have an SLP grill that will go in sometimes as well, just to "hide" stuff.
Can't wait to drive it, should be done tomorrow sometime. Gonna go Sunday and pick it up, Dan is going to meet me on his 1 day off so I can get it.

lolLookin good TS6. Im with some of the others you said, and think you should've gone w/ the F1 at least. BUT, it sounds like you're more concerned with driveability then overall power so the D1 is probably a good choice (besides, its not like the 408 wont make power
)Sounds like you've got a hellacious car on your hands. The next dyno time, you gotta bring a video camera instead. Its always nice to see/hear a badass LS1 turning the rollers.
Yeah, I considered going with the F1, but several factors changed my mind:
1: I am trying to make my built 4L60E live behind this thing for awhile.
2: I didn't want to spend the extra money on the bigger head unit and more fuel system. I'm on stock lines and rails, with a bosch pump, and thats about maxed now.
3: The fastest car I've ever had was making maybe 500 rwhp, so jumping up even 150 more is alot. I've run this car on motor only and was making about 440 rwhp, so another 210 on this particular vehicle will be huge. I only wanted streetable 10's, and this will be plenty to do it. I also have a nitrous system installed, and when the fuel system gets upgraded, we'll spray it. That'll be way more than I'll ever need.
Originally, when we decided to do this project, I was just going to use my motor, have it rebuilt, and go with a 4" crank to make what, 370 c.i.? I was going to have to get new heads, rotating assembly, etc. My motor was in great condition so I said as long as I'm paying the machine bill to do all this, lets just use a new block so I can sell mine complete. And since I might make more power down the road, I said lets use an iron block. Might as well be a 408, doesn't cost any more or less. Its got more potential, so I don't have to worry if I upgrade. I might have gotten $1500 out of my old heads, crank, cam, etc., but instead I sold my longblock for $3100. It was actually cheaper to go 408 instead of using my existing motor!
Also, the car does see some street action, so traction is an issue, and making more power might not help at all.
Now if only it wasn't so heavy!

Sam's car will make a lot of power... safe and reliable power that is on 93 octane. And when he upgrades the fuel system, he can spray it for some more power.
Here is a similar set up that FLP built (408 LS2 block) but with a fuel system, F1, and a F.A.S.T. intake and throttle body. Roughly going to be 60 to 100 hp difference.
747 hp & 697 tq on 93 octane at 17#s of boost and 889 hp & 760 tq on 93 octane with 75 shot of nitrous. Will the owner ever use that power? Helllllllllllllllllllllllllll no.
