Default BOV location

I am building a custom FM turbo kit with a FMIC for a LS1 camaro I am wondering the best placement for the BOV I am thinking before the intercooler so that the intercooler does not get a surge of hot air between shifts. But then I am also thinking right before the throttle body so the intake air velocity is not disrupted between shifts. If right infront of the TB is the best placement, should I put it on the 4" Stainless Steel elbow so that when the BOV is open the air has a easy direct shot out- but BOV on the outter radius may cause some unwanted turbulence. Or should I put it before the elbow so the turbulence is not as great but the air will have to make a bend to go through the BOV. Thanks in advance for the input.

I believe Harlan and W2W have recommended it after i/c. That is where mine will be, and I believe most of the turbo kits you can buy locate it there.

mines is after intercooler...before MAF; a few inches away from the MAF on a 3" elbow and i had to adjust the BOV because i was tweaking it the other day and i think i adjusted it toooo much and everytime i would rev the car and the BOV would sound, the car would come back to idle and stumble(im thinking due to so much air leaving the charge pipe and not being read by the MAF, but i adjusted it and everything seems to be fine, just wish my BOV was louder , maybe i just need to boost more good luck hope this helped

I believe harlan said that he preferred to put it before the intercooler to keep from getting cracks in the welds on the endtanks. However I believe that would only be a big problem on cars making big power with big boost.
