I really should have just sumped my 98 tank, this tank has no baffles except one that runs front to rear. The other tank I have here has a 'wall' built around the entire sump and there is four 1" holes over the sump itself. Not only does being able to hold less fuel weigh less but when you start putting 7-8.00 a gallon gas in your car it gets expensive to keep it full and is somewhat of a pain to top it off all the time. I was going to stuff it full of fuel cell foam but that stuff usually causes more headaches then it solves. But this works for now since I cut up my 98 tank. I was just being lazy, I should have just built a tank myself, I have all the stuff to do it here

Now, when I sumped my tank, i used a Comp Engineering setup. 1/2 fittings etc....

I took the template they provided and drilled the 5-2" or 2.5" holes like they suggested. Ive run my tank til it was nearly bone dry. Never had an issue with the A1000 ran down that low or nothing. I know what you mean about buying 2nd hand parts though. Sometimes people just do things half *** and it hurts them or someone in the long run when its all said and done. The stock 98 tanks have decent baffling in them as it is, so I drilled the holes and welded the sump around it. Love it. You get that good tank in there the car is going to pick up when you dont have to carry all that gas around down the track..
