Is Magna Charger worth it??

Is Magna Charger worth it??
So they claim about 450 rwhp which in my opinion is not all that for spending $6,000. I am pushing 398 rwhp now and it is reliable as hell. What is the potential of the charger if bigger pulley is used? and what is a reasonable high level of boost for the charger? Is there anyone out there that has the set up and can tell me what the experience is?

to me the goodness of hte Maggy is the instant throttle-response-torque at idle like rpms.... thats why I like it.
I have one in the garage for the vette but might sell it instead.

I would say if your were going to spend that type of cash go with a procharger D1 setup. I have driven a magnacharged heads and cam car and it didn't run that great at all. Not impressive, but thats just my opinion. Good Luck

My Magnacharged LS6 powered '69 Camaro ran 10.7s at 3435 lbs raceweight, and averaged 24 mpg during the Hotrod Power Tour. www.ExtremeG.net
I also have one on my C6, it went 11.3 @ 129 on radials. Instant boost is fun, feels like a big stroker engine but looks better under the hood.

Now, if you want one damned good-looking powerband, the best on an LS1 IMO (aside from the Vette KB) can be had with this blower... Area under the curve... Nothing linear.
I'd rather have a 450 rwhp Maggie LS1 than a 550 rwhp centrifugal blown LS1 IMO. If you want to take it to ~700 rwhp and up, you'll need that D-1SC, though... Unless one day they make a bigger Roots/Twin Screw for F-bodies.

magnacharger blows..we have an 04 lingenfelter Z06 with a mag on it..and the belt breaks everytime I shift fast....Its hated around here..does sound bad-*** though. And Callaway does make an extra pulley that attaches to the alternator I guess to prevent it from slipping..but we havent gotten ours yet. Oh and the vette only went 12.2 at 122(on 20" weld rims though/street tires)

Ok.... I am just saying for $6k I can get a set of really nice heads, bigger cam, and may be even rods. I think with some AFRs or Darts I can get around 440ish. I just never heard of big numbers out of Magna charger. I am sure if you want to stay with bone stock motor and some what smog legal the charger is the way to go, but it just seems the motor can make just as much power with out boost for less money.

I love mine. Lots of torque from 2K all the way up. If you're into dyno day peen1s waving contests, it wont make the most HP, but it will be one fast car.
If you understand area under the curve, its a very good solution.
They are expensive, but so are other FI solutions.

Sounds like you might be thinking about putting this on a Corvette or GTO? It's a very good choice for a daily driver. Gets into boost early so you can feel the power without revving the motor much. As mentioned, if your looking to make 600+hp at some point, an ATI kit would be a better choice.

Ok.... the claim Magna makes is with a stock motor. What happens if you put a blower cam in it? I need the set up to be 100% reliable with out any issue. Is the tunning they supply issue free? This is not going into a GTO, Vette, or F body so I don't care about fitment issue.
