Default Lt1 CAmaro front mount

Does anyone have pics of a front mount intercooler on an Lt1 camaro? Can anyone explain what needs to be cut out and removed to accomplish this? Thanks

How is that mounted? What do I have to cut out to make that fit? What size is it?

Above are my pics of my FMIC before and after my bumper went back on. I will say that at the bare minimum, you'll need to take out the foam insert behind the bumper. After that, its pretty much up to you how much you want to remove. I personally didn't want to hack up my front end because I thought it would look too ugly. So, I ended up running some custom ducting underneath the front bumper to direct air to my FMIC. I also cut out the portion behind my fog lights. Past that, I know I would gain cooler IAT's if I hacked up the front like most people do, but my IAT's currently are plenty cool enough for my application, and my front end still looks fairly stock.

Call911's car was the first LT1 Fbody we did a FMIC on. There is a bit less space up front to route everything. In the end it came out really nice and we were able to use our mandrel bent intercooler pipes we use in the ls1 fbodys.

I forgot to add my pictures!

I have since tucked the FMIC up higher since it was hanging a little low.

i was thinking about adding one of these to my 94 it has a 6 psi powerdyne blower on it but since it mounts on the drive side of the block i would run the blower exhaust out the driver side and have to reverse my intake elbow and have it come in from the pass side then right??

How difficult would it be to adapt a FMIC to an LT1 vortech supercharger unit? I don't like the vortech ones that sit atop the engine.

Blown383 how did you go about tucking it up higher? Haven't thrown my bumper back on yet but from the looks of it I think I'll clear it just a tad to not having to pull it all back off and readjusting it.

Looking at your pics too tells me I have to relocated my accusump. I'm going off your fog lights and your bumper support location and comparing it to mine since they're identical. My sump will block the IC airflow completely. DOH! More than likely I'll just cut the center support off and move the sump up in it's place since it's not as wide as the support it should be fine plus I'll still have the side supports to keep it from sagging as that's been known to do over time.

I don't have any good routing pics available. I have some but they aren't good ones. The pics about show much more how mine is also routed. Basically there is a lot of fabrication going on between the FMIC and all the bumper as well as all the lines. Its a big project, but well worth it to have the gains the FMIC will give you IMO.
