Sts?
I have 6000 to spend, can i afford a Turbo kit for my car plus all the goodies that go along with it?
i would check out trt sponser---> www.trtturbo.com
when i did my sts kit i did it all at one time and spent a little over 7k but i got a lot of upgrades and such...
keep in mind that if you have a M6 and have not upgraded the clutch that is something that you will have to do that will also bump up the cost...and the 10bolt "should" go does not have to just stay on street tires and you should be fine.
With 6000...that would be enough to buy a good kit. Just dont break anything
yea... that is the main prob with working on a budget.....**** breaks!
As far as reliability...I love my kit. I've had it for about a year and have put over 12k miles on it. I drive 50miles roundtrip to work everyday. Mileage is within 1.5 psi of what I used to get and that's with me getting into it sometimes. I've had two problems. I was running in the rain without the water shield and water got up to the MAF and so I had to drop the pipe and clean the MAF. Haven't had a problem since I got the water shield. Also, I had an eibach pro-kit on the car and only had 1.75" of clearance on the pipe where it bends up into the engine bay. That pipe got beat to hell before I figured out where all the low points are in my neighborhood. Since then I've raised my car back up and it barely scrapes on some things now.
Oh yeah, like someobody said above, you want to definately make sure you have traction. I would seriously invest in upgrading your suspension first if you have not already done so.

I'm on the SLP Eibachs now but I installed QA1 shocks and spent all day adjusting them to get about 2.75" of clearance (+1") on the front. That was fun when I first put them on, I adjusted it, set the car down, pushed on it, and it was at 2.75 inches. Drove it the alignment shop and the couldn't put it on the rack because it had settled 1.25"! I had to readjust, drive around, measure and repeat until I finally got it where I wanted it.
- tap your pan
- tap the oil source
- i-pipe exhaust? (on some kits its provided though)
- Dyno tune or tuning software <------ $$$$ (people forget that one)
- Fuel
*Pump
*Injectors
- Guages
The list goes on and on! And it adds up. So I really really really commend saving. Also if you plan on, in the future, getting new heads just save up until you can buy it all at once. Do all the labor at once, and then tune it all at once. Because if you swap heads later down the road you will most likely need a new tune (due to compression drop), and it will cost you another bundle of $.
What springs are you on now?
