I would ask forced inductions about that one. I would think it would be OK

) what turbo do you have (brand, model)------GT40 88's
2) are you using a restrictor in the oil feed line? yes
3) what size restrictor? .070
4) what oil pressure does your engine see near redline? 70
5) has the restrictor cured your smoking issues? yes
6) lastly, if you have used a restrictor in the past and it cause problems please post up some details
7) what size oil feed line do you use? -4

After 1000mi of not using any restrictor, car began to smoke. Pulled the feed line off today and set it in a 2l bottle. Fired up the car for a sec and it filled the bottom completely.

Then put in 2 n20 jets drilled to .070, no more smoking.

What do you mean feed line check valve? I am not aware I have one, don't know why you would need one.
Not sure if its needed really for a front mount. But on rear mounts its to keep oil from pooling, usually overnight. Check valve goes right before feed connects to turbo. Just wondering if it took a check valve AND restrictor to keep from smoking. Couldnt both be used or would it be pointless?

probably a dumb question, but what is the cause of the smoking in the first place? Does oil seep past the bearings and burn out the turbine?

Too much pressure/ volume pushes oil past the seal.

My .060 with my T76 T-netics works fine. No smoking at all.

I had a .048 on my 60 trim, but that wasn't on my F-body. The pressure got really high in the cold weather, 100 psi +.

hey guys... has anyone with a NEWER T-series netics unit used a restrictor as discussed above? I've got a netics T-66 very high mount with a great gravity drain, and the turbo has a built-in oil filter at the inlet which must stay there according to tech support at turbonetics. They say a reducer shouldn't be necessary, but a couple times at startup I'll get a good blue smoke show as if oil got past the rings. I just want to make sure that it's ok to combine this oil filter and a restrictor as well... so that I know I'm not starving the turbo.

TIA,

Kevin

Do the nitrous jets drop right into a -4 fitting, or do you have to drill it out or machine it at all?

btw even though my car doesn't smoke it has less than 200 miles on the new turbos and I ordered the function7 flanges to put on it anyway.
