Silverado SS came in with a small motor issue. It was a stock 6.0 with 6psi STS. Now its getting a 408.

We are really not sure. We did the turbo and a stall a while back. He said it didnt build much boost in first gear. We wrapped the exhaust and it would stall to 6psi and maintain it. We told him he had to get the tune checked since it was making boost better. He did not. He did say he was out doing burnouts right before it happened.
Heads are trash too.

I was expecting maybe a broken ring land or something like that, but damn

#5 piston is gone, blasted to pieces. Would be real interested to know exactly what happened.

It would, but you can only speculate.
Customer is stubborn and didnt want to do anything except the 408. We told him there are alot of other upgrades besides the motor you have to do now. Hoping to get him in a 76, more injector, etc..
I cant imagine a 60-1 with a 408.

with the prices of the Turbonetics I saw a few posts up..... wouldn't make much sense to not spend the couple hundred extra bucks for a better warranteed TC76 which will better suit the 408...

CHris

Noticed that too. Did it trash another cylinder on the other bank?

yes, there was a wrist pin sitting in the pan. Just the top of that piston was left in the cylinder. Also, the rod is a little twisted. Pretty cool huh.
