Default ATI inlet hat on and off track results

Well I didnt WANT to do this test but it just happened lol.

ATI inlet hat/big filter on:

9.54 @ 140.69 1.347 60'
9.65 @ 140.69 (yes the exact same mph) 1.436 60, spun a bit.

ATI inlet hat off, matter of fact it was smashed when it fell off the car on the 9.59 burnout and I ran it over lol.

9.59 @ 141.09 1.39 60'
9.56 @ 140.31 1.36 60'

So there you go, this is the third time I've ran it the same day with it on and off and my conclusion is it doesnt do anything for me. Slightly higher avg boost for a pass, same a/f, slightly higher IAT from pulling the air in from the radiator.

Here is what the inlet looked like after the 3rd pass burnout, obviously couldnt run it like this. Been meaning to make a little support bracket for a year now so it doesnt fall off

lol... that filter looks good...

yeah I decided to get the platic inlet with the small PCV filter also....

the 4'' elbow when i mocked it up threw everything outa wack and looked like ****...

so far you are the only one who gives "die hard facts" and not some he said she said bullshit...

right now every thing is together and looks good... but no fuel lines or tank

i just got all the fuel fittings in yesterday... hopefully i can get my car tuned next weekend :fingers crossed:

I have ran a couple times here and there with and without it in the past. I have no idea how people are getting 2 more psi and that much more power with it off. At 7000rpm with a 3.7 pulley its spinning that blower pretty good and this car is very consistant so I just dont get it. Just food for thought..

I'm pretty much at the end with this combo, I was at BG last night and last year with the old motor/cam and 150lbs lighter in about the same DA it ran 9.78 @ 136 so I guess its doing OK. Also made my 100th pass this year last night

So you are saying the filter does not hurt your performance.

Filter isnt the issue, its the plastic part that goes on the blower inlet that people say is horrible and pick up 2psi when they remove it..

Great info "again" KP...I see your A/F remains the same. I never would have thought that...Congrats the car is haulin' ***! I'm still waiting on a custom fab job for the inlet of the F1 I'm having a buddy do. Don't know how well it will work but I will be trying 2 different combos. Pics are below...

Most likely an F1+ will start seeing some restriction, but I also have (or had lol) a huge filter and the other small filter on the bottom. Plus I have a small air dam under the big filter to get cooler up there. Maybe its just the combination of everything, the stock fiter with the accordian hose is pretty bad and I can see picking up some by taking it off.

It just beats me why it makes no difference on my car and people have seen a 50-75rwhp gain on the dyno just taking it off. I'd like to see more track results though, not the 'it feels awesome when I took it off' results

dyno runs can be made within seconds after starting a car.... real results are starting the car in staging lanes... burnout... footbrake to 2000-4000rpms for 7 seconds or so then WOT.... real track results are the only thing that matters So IAT come into huge factors... not to mention large shop fans and "corrected" dyno numbers...

Needed to be cleaned anyhow so its easier to put a new one on. I have no idea where Jeremy bought this one from though so I'm waiting to hear back from him.

After spending 100.00 in gas to tow the car there and back, 80.00 to overnight a thermostat so i could go out, 50.00 to get in the track and food for the kids, 32.00 worth of gas for the car and 8 hours of driving back and forth plus get rained out by 8pm 40.00 for the filter doesnt seem to matter so much lol.

Some videos from last night, not real happy with how it ran overall but I'm sure its getting a little tired - I beat the crap out of the poor thing

Autozone couldnt get a 160 the next day, 80.00 for a thermostat pales in comparison to a 550.00 electric water pump that leaked like crazy after about 2 hours. Now I have to spend 30.00 to ship it to california and I wont see it back for 3 weeks most likely. Never ends lol, worst part about all this is after working on the car all summer it still hasnt ran as fast as it did the 2nd time I took it out march this year with the z06 cam and hooker cat back. THATS whats frustrating

I understand the frustration, we do mods to make it faster and it bites you in the ***. Sold the ol procharger to you and went turbo and my car is now a slug

But that ZO6 cam you sent me should really help. Thats my winter project. I'll finish whats left of this season with the new turbo and the old cam.

To those who asked its a S&B filter, always had great luck with those filters.

I'm just getting burned out, most of the year was spent getting the car 100% NHRA legal and in the process adding about another 125lbs. Sucks going out first time of the year and run some great numbers right off the bat, you assume it will get a little better, granted it the DA was zero when I ran those numbers But now the car is legal and I have my license so I can go race anywhere - even though I dont feel like racing it after making nearly 50 passes in the last four weeks.

Sucks that the fall/winter here never has the nice high barometer and low humidity - have to wait for march and april to see that
