Question Powerdyne Blower

Anyone know if there is a kit for 02 model. Don't want more than about 6lbs. boost for strictly street car w/o inter-cooler and NO blower whine. Stock,automatic & a convert. body. Nitro out of the question, pain in the ***.

Go Vortech or Procharger, FYI centrifugal superchargers do not whine, centrifugal superchargers whistle. Roots supercharegers whine.

I can get you into a turbo kit for the same price and you'll end up making more power.

Either that or hit it with a Procharger, they are a nice unit as well.

i have the 4.5 kit making 7#s it is a quiet s/c but u can still hear it a little . as for no intercooler you'll have to use a meth kit to keep your I.A.T's down.mine were uparound 200 and with the meth its in mid 90's . and im not sure but i dont think the year of your car would matter

I got into the powerdyne scene for about a month. Dont do it. Listen to the sponsors above and go with another kit. If you honestly want to stick with them then try PMing blackbird and i think there was a few others on here that tried it for a month or two.

Youll get sick of the junky gear design and if you try to go any higher than 6psi youll be replacing belts and experience belt slip all the time during WOT runs. Its a joke. Dont mean to rain on your parade, just giving a bit of reality check on what these kits are capable of doing. Now if you go used....thats a diff story. I bought mine minus a few items for less than $1k. 350-390rwhp at 6psi for $900 or less is not too bad for FI. But dont expect 450whp out of it. Hell you probably wont break 425.

I made 435RWHP and 433RWTQ on my powerdyne and ran 11.4 @ 124mph back in 2000. Stock except for mid length headers. I had to do a lot of work to the fans and also the intake side of the blower. It worked pretty decent for what it was though.

Given today's options I'd look at something different. Turbo or procharger would be my choice now.

i ran mine for about 2 years, no problems except having to deal with the fans, same issue with the ATI though. Same with my buddy, he only ran into issues when he tried to push it past 6psi.

Your done at 430rwhp though, if you ever want more you will have to go to another system.

If you can pick one up for $1500 or less it's worth it. If you set it up right it will treat you fine.

I actually made 455RWHP and 450RWTQ with the Powerdyne on my 360. It was S1 heads and B1 cam at the time. I sold it shortly after that and went all motor.

I'd look for a used STS/Vortech kit. Actually procharger kits can be found relatively cheap online as well. Youll have to give a few more details on your goals.
HP? Turbo out of question? Price cap?
