Blow-thru setups are a bit of a pain to tune. You'll also spend a bit of coin on a good CSU conversion.
As always, turbomustangs.com is a good place to look for info. They've got a whole section dedicated to blow-thru setups.

yep, turbomustangs.com
i have a TON of information that i had printed off for doing a blow through LS1 setup, but just lost interest in doing so. the cost difference wasn't ALL that much. we have a couple of blow through cars here in milwaukee for mustangs. 1000+hp blah blah blah type setups. so they know what they are doing. just after running through all the MSD crap needed, the carb being the same price as injectors and a throttle body, etc... just wasnt' worth it. but still kinda cool! so by all means don't think i'm trying to persuade you to do differently

well i was looking at the ls1 msd intake for carb with the msd computer but if its gonna cast as much as fuel injection forget it. 20 more days till i have the money to get my short block. Now let me ask you all this i have a 6.0 iron short block stock , should i buy a rotating assymbley for it using the stock crank or just buy a complete short block. the block i have is in good condition it was pulled out a 2000 hummer i think and it was jsut burning oil. Im just trying to save a little here and there where i dont need it as my funds are not unlimited, lol

i have in the works a blow thru LSX engine for my camaro
and i have had good exp before on a sbc previous 10 sec. 3rd gen camaro
with a 750 dp and a weiand intake with a p600b
car went as quick as 10.40 with basically swap meet parts and i built the carb and tuned,
its really not that hard to tune carbs if u have some
patience and will, but if ur convinced that its hard to tune a carb then it will be
i have also built 2 other blow thru engines for other ppls cars
the carb eliminates all the efi tuning variables and sensors needed
the carb is your injectors,tb,etc.
i also had my timing locked out and car still ran hard on the street with it
i am planning to make over 1000+bhp with the combo i am working on
so yes it does work if u want to go that route
i am really pretty good at tuning carbs, so that is perhaps why iam more
comfortable with blow thru setups

Great source of info over there for Blow thru carb setups. There is a ton of people making really good power with them so i'm sure its possible for an LSX. Tuning can't be much more difficult than tuning for EFI. I think tuning EFI would be harder.

MSD makes 2 boxes that should work, a dist should not be needed. The vic jr kit is not programmable from what I have read, the one seperate, the curves are. The carb is expensive, but people have built their own....

I MUCH prefer blow-through carbs over fuel injection for turbo's.
Earlier this year, I built a turbo setup for a customer of a friend. We started from scratch and built a 377 SBC, GMPP FastBurn heads, 230/230 cam, Victor Jr., CSU carb and hat, T-76GTS turbo, air/air intercooler, Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump, and 132-02 regulator. After putting it all together, it made 480 fwhp on the very first pull at 3.5 psi. We started tweaking the boost up and made it all the way to 929 hp and 1070 ft-lb at 18 psi WITHOUT TOUCHING THE CARBURETOR. That's right, the CSU carb worked flawlessly right out the box. This thing was by far the easiest combo to tune that I've ever worked with.
This compares to my LT1, which still doesn't start or respond right even after 2 years of tinkering with the d@mn computer.
As far as cost goes, this is what we spent on the carb'd setup:
CSU carb: $800
CSU hat: $150
A1000 fuel pump: $350
13202 regulator: $150
Total: $1450 (we used a box-stock HEI distributor also)
To do this with fuel injection, you'll have to have a considerably thicker wallet, even if you go low budget:
Fuel pumps (2 x 255): $200
Low impedence fuel injectors: $480
Stand-alone ECM: $2000
larger throttle body: $300(?)
Tuning, tuning, and more tuning: $200+
Total: $3180
I'm sure I've left out some stuff in both cases, but this should give you an idea.

The cost estimates above were close, but when I factored in the whole MSD box thing for the LS1 engine carb setup, PLUS the coil packs that were going to be a benefit in the future with some of the things MSD was talking about putting together in reference to something similar to a digital7 box, it just kept adding up in cost.
granted still cool as hell and still something I wish I could do with my car. but i'd probably stick to a gen1 SBC at that point

sound like i need to stick to fuel injection and jsut work on getting them money up. like many say on here there is no cheap way to go fast and i see that now. well one more week of stick welding in my school then we will be on mig welding. cant wait to build my own turbo kit. my welding skills have gotten good too i must add. I need to find a machine shop to do the engine block prep on my 6.0 any suggestions in the chicago land area. im gonna buy the rotating assy. for it . 408 is what i want.

I thought there was a forum dedicated to blow-thru setups, but I can't find the link for it now.
