We had a car doing this with a A/A kit and we ended up having to buy a laser pulley alignment tool. It was off and we had to shim it to line it up correctly. Car is fine now. Just a tought.

This might sound crazy, but check the tightness of your crankshaft bolt holding the hub on. Mine worked loose and even after tightening it, it was still throwing belts. I got a new crankshaft pulley and everything was OK.

Well, somebody mentioned the laser device and it occurred to me I have the laser alingment stuff for work. So I put that on and saw the my PS pulley was basically right on the money with the crank pulley. With that being the case I reasoned that the crank pulley was in the right spot (PS pulley has no way to move/adjust).
Looking at the alternator/tensioner pulleys I saw that they were about 3/16" too far forward.
Since the crank rotates clockwise that explains why the belt would jump a rib on the PS pulley. The belt was hitting the water pump pulley too far forward of where it should be, so it would tend to crowd the front part of the PS pulley.
The fix involved careful machining (right angle grinder and file) of the tensioner pulley mount so it would sit about 3/16" further rearward. Then I took the shims I had in the alternator out and walla, stuff is lined up good.
Drove around for a good 25 minutes, including some 4500 rpm runs and not belt jumping

I did the same thing, the first two driving sessions were fine...but now it's back again. Ugh. I just finished my exhaust so my car is super quiet except for the loud *** CHIRPING.

I don't know how it happens but I took another look at my pulleys tonight, and now my alternator pulley, tensioner pulley, and PS/crank pulley are all at different angles. I dont know what to do anymore...been through two alternator brackets so far.
How is your car bowtieman, squeak free?

I had issues with mine recently...
I fitted a Katech manual tensioern with high sided idler, and although I dont ahve many miles on it, it seems to be working fine.
A couple of WOT blasts would have seen my accessory belt jump. I abused the car for an hour or 2 one night with the new tensioner, and it hung together with no problems.
I think my factorytensioner/idler was just knackered.

PSJ, here you go. This is what I have for work; the laser has a magnetic base so I just attached it to the crank pulley and used a tape measure to check stuff.

Westside, my belt is squeak free and no more slicing ribs off. Have had to 6k rpm so far with no issues.

Gates do a proper laser alignment tool that sits in the ribs themselves. it isnt very expensive....
But the alignment specs that come with it are scary !!! They seem to suggest a huge amount out of true, is actually ok.
