Thumbs up SLP 402 with ATI ProCharger D-1SC at 16 psi of boost = 757 rwhp on Mustang Dyno!

I am truly amazed that we are seeing 16 psi with a 402 cid engine! We're not quite done tuning yet, but it looks like 16 psi is all we're going to make, as boost is leveling off. 757 rwhp is not shabby on a Mustang chassis dyno, this would be approx 800 rwhp on a Dynojet. I have to look this morning to see what heads are on this engine. We'll finish tuning this morning and I'll post the dyno results.

And everybody seems to think you gotta have a turbo to make big power, hmmm.

Well u certainly dont need a turbo to make big power but at 16 psi with a turbo i would expect more like 850 hp. Supers are just less eficent at teh psi to power ratio since they need to be belt driven.

John

Hi John, you're probably right, although the ATI ProCharger system is usually a lot easier to install than a turbo. Bob

Thanks! The crank pulley is .78" larger than stock, and we have a 3.70" pulley on the head unit. Bob

Hi Tyler, this has the SLP head and cam package, pn# 12411. The engine was already installed prior to us working on it, which is why I didn't have the engine info sooner. Bob

I wonder what I would make at 16 psi? I'm at 14 now. I might just do the inlet hat mod and see what boost that gets me, I'm still on the stock ATI hat and filter. Not that the car isn't already retarded.......
