Default line connected to passenger side of TB...?

I was under the impression that this was a vacuum line that alot of you eliminated due to it allowing oil into the intake similar to the pcv. Upon removing it for the first time last night, I found that it pushes from the TB to the VC instead...and that was at idle...I assume that under boost, it would increase as well. Obviously, there was no oil in the line...removal did not seem to have an effect on idle either...
What is the purpose of this line? And why would anyone want air sent to the VC?

Thats the fresh air line for the PCV, since its in front of the throttle blade it pulls no vacuum.

It has two purposes in stock form, it pulls clean air from the air filter into the crankcase and also that air is metered through the MAF since its a closed system that same air goes back into the intake though the PCV valve.

On a forced induction car that line will cause the crankcase to be pressurized since the boost is going straight into the crankcase. You need to cap the port off on the TB and either run a breather on the valve cover or a hose down to the blower/turbo inlet from the valve cover. The reason you feel air coming out is because the bypass isnt big enough to bleed all the pressure off from the blower at idle. Cap it off and use a breather, probably pick up a little boost and your rings will thank you

Awesome info...thank you!

I have recently replaced the filler neck with a filtered breather and removed my pcv valve...replacing it with an "old school" Moroso vc breather with a fitting that I plan on running a hose->check valve->nipple->catless y-pipe...I will cap this line form TB off today as well...thanks again!

Be carefull with the old style pan evac, if you have a lot of backpressure in the exaust you will end up with raw exhaust in your crankcase at idle/decell.

The Moroso in-line check valve should prevent that shouldn't it?

They dont react quick enough really and the quality of those valves are pretty spotty. They worked well on an open header drag race car that spends 99% of its life at WOT but at idle with some backpressure they will flutter and let some exhaust through. You can try it, it works for some..

blower inlet with a catchcan inline sounds like the best idea...it is working really well that way on my turbo car....for once i have SOME pcv and no oil in the intake

the only issue with that is that my inlet is a Nitrile rubber 90*...maybe I'll leave it venting towards the white firewall for now and see just how much oil is exiting through the breather with it's "pot scrubber pad" looking element...

That may work...maybe using one of the Jeg's small catch cans with filter attached to the firewall...or better yet...just use the Moroso breather I already have installed...if there's not much oil due to the truck's stock VC baffle, maybe the breather's element would suspend it and allow it to drain back into the VC anyway...if so, no catch can needed...I wouldn't need a check valve either would I?

That fitting is for 1/4" hose though...I would have to reduce from 5/8" somehow...
