How did you hook up with Don, I thought he lived in the South 'burbs of Chicago.
Next one will go 9k+. RPM didn't kill thing thing...hell it was only 7500 when she blew. We are taking it apart today and we'll see what the parts can tell us.

RPM ruins poorly built motors...I could have spun this thing to 9k if it was getting oil. I mean it's only a 3.622" stroke pistons speeds weren't up there in the danger zone or anything.

I'm alright...graduate this fall and have a few job offers on the table.

4.10's yeh. It was a melling hv pump.

Good news is that so far turbo stuff is all fine, lifters fine, rockers fine, 7 pistons fine, head is very minor, valves are all okay, etc. Not going to be bad to put it back together...just the dry sump will be $$$ but oh well pay to play.

Damn man that sucks. At least you kept the car off the wall.

I have been running an accumulator on my motors for 2 years now with no starvation issues. Just something to think about if you can't swing the drysump setup for a while.

Get those gears out of there...

Can you PM me with how you have the accumulator stuff setup? The dry sump stuff is definitly not cheap and if it's not necessary, it can wait.

And the 4.10's are coming out...haha but hey it made for interesting launches with a 2.54 first gear, 4k and 10 lbs on the brake, and the 4.10 out back with the little 28's.

Mechanical engineering then going back for an MBA.

I earned an academic full-ride and still work 40 hours at a pretty good automotive job just to afford the things I like (gf, car, concerts, trips to vegas, etc).

unfortunate but at 160mph,... well, thats moving brotha. I find myself always eyeing the oil pressure gauge for things like this though sometimes, you do everything right and somthing goes wrong. Oh well, your ok, you rebuild and you keep breaking those personal records..

That accumulator idea... is that like an extra oil "pan", circulating clean/cool oil when needed?

Mike I saw your accumulator (hehe sounds funny) but I could not see how you plumbed it, care to share here or in a PM? I'm guessing it's something custom around the oil filter?
