Of course autos are better at the track... perfect launches, better 60's and no boost lost between shifts.

PSJ-this is an interesting thread. Recently I've been thinking of switching to a auto(A4)BUT have put the brakes on for now. Here's why. There's been a huge trend for the C5 turbo guys to switch from M6 to auto and results have been great. Most guys who could barely run 10's are now running mid 9's at over 145 mph-these guys are dynoing around 850 rwhp. Know i was going to switch after seeing the success thes guys are having-BUT a Turbo car and a Centri car make power in very different fashions. so my main concern was whatever stall worked for them might not work for me-so then i'd be changing stalls to get the right one only to find it launches great but it's too loose up top and costs me mph? Remember my car is a DD-your input on this since you have Centri car would be greatly appreciated.

-680 rwhp with an A3
-Dynojet
-3750 lb
-10.40
-143 mph

I think this is a great thread. With all of the M6 guys bragging about 800+ rwhp, I feel sorta' ashamed of only 700. However, for any given power level, the Auto cars seem to pull 5 mph more give or take. Or, said another way, for any give mph, the M6 guys make 50 - 100 more rwhp.

Exactly... that was why I posted this thread. We finally have enough guys running 135--165mph to see the consistency.

Except in STOCKISH cars. Manuals seem to trap a little higher then.

The biggist ones I can find! Enough fun. I like my powerglide. Its light and I picked up about 2mph after I swapped from an A3 TH400.
