Cool Larry.

I'm open to constructive input. Imagine the pushrod sitting in the hole but right next to the rocker. Now imaging that corner of the rocker worn away about 1/8 inch. Looks to me like the pushrod ended up not being below the rocker, and then it rubbed. The rockers were on tight, and the springs looked okay. I don't know much about coil bind, but I wonder if the lifter bled down and then pushrod was able to pop out? Anyone have a more plausible idea?

Tony, Speed said the stock rockers won't work with the AllPros.

I guess it was a good thing I launched with no boost again.

If the lifters had some preload then its highly unlikely the lifters bled down enough to pop out the pushrod, you sure the rocker didnt move over?

Are the inner and outer snap rings still on the rockers? Problem I had with them is one of the outer snap rings fell off and the rocker slid off to the side and chewed up a retainer and valve stem tip. I dont know how big the pushrod holes are in the all pro heads but they would have to be pretty large to let the pushrod get out of the cup. If the valve isnt bent most likely a lifter fell apart, hopefully you didnt turn a lifter and junk the cam..

BW, looked more to me like the pushrod wore away the side of the rocker but did you see the spot when I had the rocker off the car?

kp, good point.

Go solid roller over the winter...dunno why a lot of the lsx guys are so afraid of them???

I only adjusted mine once the whole season and I only had to make one of them 1-thou tighter lol...I checked 'em every few race weekends and they never moved. Used t/d shaft mounts.

its not that anyone is afraid of it, it just seems that everyone can acheive their goals and more with the ls motor without spending the extra money and time on the setup.

If you run a kit I will need *cough* spots.

Anyway back on topic. But for the valvetrain issue the car tracks straight and runs decent.

The sooner you open your eyes to realize that maybe the lsx isn't the best engine platform ever to be built, the happier you will be...they are great and you can go fast with a lot of stock parts, but once you get into going REALLY fast, there's nothing like the old school sbf/sbc/bbc/bbf stuff.
