Default headers or 6.0 manifolds

I have a set of 16 ga. stainless steel 6.0 direct fit headers i was wanting to use for my turbo kit instead of the stock 6.0 manifolds. its 304 stainless steel. the turbos or turbo will be braced so there will be no weight on the headers but im seeing a lot of guys going manifolds. I know there isnt really a difference in performance but the headers do look better. With flex pipe at each header flange would you think i would still have to worry about cracking due to heat?

Truck manifolds will hold up way better, plus some have tried to make 6.0 truck headers fit, and they don't fit as well as manifolds.

Truck manifolds have gone low 8s and made ~1500rwhp. Its what I'm going with.

Thats somthing to think about i figured since its a direct replacement i would not have any issues on fitting. Well i should have my motor in a matter of a week or 2 and when i get my k member then the test fitting will commence.

The nice thing about the headers is you could cut off the 3 bolt flange and weld on marmon flange to use a band clamp.

Just a consideration.

Lamont, my understanding is that cast manifolds can handle a lot more heat, and will hold up better long term. But I'd like to see somoene use shorty truck headers and then keep us posted whether yours crack.

I worked hard all week so I could spend all day babysitting our one year old so my wife can go get her hair and nails done.

You can always see what happens, I was always curious to see what would happen. I have a set of truck mani's on my car and a spare set as backup.
