I don't want the lag of a T88 sized turbo but I want more flow/power potential then a T76.

225/225, 581/581, 113lsa. Looking for 700rwhp pump, 800+rwhp race gas.
Would you prefer the S76 or S78 for this setup...
Thanks for your input by the way and sorry to jack the thread kinda.

I wonder how a Q-trim vs a GTQ would be?? I hear that the GTQ flows much better and then the standard Q, plus also T-netics has a new turbine wheel that is suppose to be between the GTQ and GTS turbine wheel, wonder how that wheel does.

Well tonight was the first time I really got in the car hard with new setup. Man it pulls really hard. I took one of my friends for a ride. He has a turbo Hybussa making 500 hp to ground he was very impressed. Only got on it threw 3rd gear. I am planning on taking it to the track this weekend. I still have factory 10 bolt so it's going to be street tires for me. We only have 1000 ft track here but I am expecting close to 120 mph. I am thinking of going with some sort of 88 turbo but not sure which one.

Mike, you should see if yould could squeeze a T4 T88 into your kit (probably need some minor rework)... I bet you could see +150rwhp over what you make now.

Yes that LT1 made 987rwhp peak, but could not hold it. It would spike up then drop off. So realistically it probably was making low 900's-high 800's as an average. Also running a turbo without a wastegate is not the best thing for it if your thinking longevity.....lol

My 76GTQ, according to compressor maps, will be high up there in the efficiency range at 14,15 psi... Just right for me for maximum spool/powerband. But I have 346 cubes... I can't imagine how hard the turbo would be pushed with EVEN MORE displacement. Just my $0.02
For that displacement, it should've have been AT LEAST a 76GTS (will flow more). Can something bigger fit on that kit?
76GTS is ideal on a 346 on pump (~15psi), with a little room for a race gas tune (15 psi+). My 76GTQ will be no good for race gas/high boost over 15 psi on 346 cubes. Yours is on a 402. That turbo MIGHT be getting choked, but I am not an expert. Good luck man. 600+ rwhp is 600 rwhp+ Sounds good for now, especially on the stock 10-bolt.

My old motor was forged 347 and it 18 psi of boost on it. Yes I can put bigger turbo on this setup. Just need to modify the frame rail for clearance. With current setup there is no lagg. Spools very quickly.
