explain the why the strut brace is needed?

Ok I sold the D-1SC at last.... Now its time to choose between the F1-C and F1-R. I learned from Bob today that the F1-R has 68000 max impeller speed compared to the F1-C 74000 RPM. Both have the same step up ratio. That means:

F1-R will need 6600 RPM with the 7.25 crank and 3.8 pulley to max it out.
F1-C will need 7100 RPM with the 7.25 crank and 3.8 pulley OR 6800 RPM with a 3.6 pulley to max it out .

Based on the Chart it says that the F1-R is capable of 75 more HP than the F1-C. So which one do you guys think is better? Im going to be trying to get into the high 800 low 900rwhp range and setup the car to runs 8's.

well looking at what you just posted, it would really depend if you want to spin that high to get a few extra ponies, id go f1r myself, but im still pretty new to this "high tech" info on impellar speeds and what not

All thing equal the F1R will produce a hotter discharge, but higher airflow when driven to the limit. My suggestion is if you have the engine capacity for a blower this size get the F1C.

heh, its a tough decision isnt it. I just had my 4 year old pont at the screen at which number he liked better (F1A or F1C) and he picked the F1A - I'll make either work

LSs1, which blowers will still allow you to run a decent size filter? Some of the big blowers (not just ATI) don't fit very well when you use stock brackest. BigBos had an F1 or something and could not even get a filter on the blower since the blower was two inches from the radiator.

We are going to use a custom radiator. Maybe 4" thick, but shorter to allow us to use the elbow Or just cut the frame it self and make another brace to hold the radiator. Its going to be a custom job thats for sure.

I'm going with the F1-C due to lower discharge temps and the ability to run higher RPM's. Hopefully we will get it in time to put everything together in the next two weeks.
