Either of those engines will need more then a 67 or 70 to reach those #'s without getting significant backpressure.

Go with a small 76mm unit. Less turbine speed means less backpressure, so optimize he compressor side.

u can probably get 600rwhp on a 67mm turbo....go 408 with a 67mm u wouldn't have any problems hitting 700rwhp

What do you mean by get whatever you want, not even close with that size turbo. Just ask Longrange4u who was running a 67 trim Rear mount STS system. the highest he got was 607rwhp. That is damn good. Not saying you couldnt maybe get a little more than that with good fuel system, etc, but far from getting "whatever you want", especially with a 402CI motor. Definately need at least a 76. I am by no means a pro at this either, but even I know this.

Look... trust me on this. I have been down this road. At minimum if you want to stay STS then go with the T-70 or T-72 turbo and the 60lb injectors (maybe even 75's) with a FMIC. You will hit your numbers with that...

If you want a turbo that can actully handle that 402 you need to look at using a 76GTS turbo... there are a ton of factors when you start going above 600RWHP... Cage, suspension, driveline, fuel, cooling, exhaust and charge piping (to including the insulation of these)... so be ready for what you are getting into.

If I was to do it over again... I would have went with a 370ci and a gt70 or 72 turbo... thats it. Been happy with safe 650RWHP. When you go beyond that... $$$$ cost $$$$ grows faster then your HP curve.

SDPC has a 402ci short block fully fordged, ballanced and bluprinted with whatever compression ratio you want (I'm thinking 9.5-1) for just shy of $4,200.00 thats what I have been leaning towards. so its sounding like I need to go for a GT70 or 76GTS ???? how much for one of those and will it fit nicely under my assend ?? also where should I go for a good deal and quality product ???

Yep... weve been down this road before......... Those turbo's are way to small....
Ive even been down that road.... not STS... Front mount... 370ci with a T6 Flanged GT42 76mm turbo was maxed out by 14 psi of boost..... There was a thread here posted just a couple of days ago about a 408ci motor with a 76mm turbo that had a back pressure rating of 4:1.... way high.. causing problems.. maxed out and if i remember correctly he was done by a lil over 600rwhp.....

ok Im still learning here can someone please hold my hand and walk me straight to the turbo I should use for this 402 using the STS kit ???? and what kind of lag will I see with the setup ?? Im hoping the 402 with around 9 or 9.5 to 1 C/R will do a good job of keeping low end power and keep the turbo spooling sufficiently. with the stock GT60 STS setup I got 7PSI (full boost) at 2800rpm. but was getting too high intake temps and went to an intercooler and the lack of lag flew right out the window.

Not sure if Kyle is talking about Zombie's car... but it sounds close. He has a 76 and I think 3:1 back pressure... he is joining me in the 88mm rearmount club!

Ok first what are your no **** goals... why do you think you need a 402 / 408? That size motor needs a lot of turbo....

I want a little more then 600rwhp for the street and have a controller in case I want to poor it on for a minute. I dont want to mess with building a motor I just want to do a swap and not have to be without my car for months plus like I mentioned I can get a fordged ballanced and blueprinted LS2 shortblock for under 4200.00 bucks. grab some LQ9 heads or maybe 317s and be done. I just want to know which turbo to bolt to my STS kit. I am in the early stages here but I plan to be complete with the setup I want by then end of 2007. I am open to suggestions but kinda have my heart set on the 402. plus I can then sell off all my stock stuff to buffer the cost as well. so what I need to know is what turbo would be ideal for this application 402ci ~9.0 or 9.5-1 C/R and advice on a set of 6.0L heads.

Also as far as a fuel system I was planning on sticking with my walbro 255 a boost referenced regulator and 60lb injectors or should I go bigger on the injectors ??

will my LS6 intake work ?? if so how well ?? I was also looking at this intercooler any thoughts on this intercooler http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FMIC-...mZ230037473653

That IC is too small. As for turbo, go with a 76GTS.

He is talking about the GMR single log kit with on-center T76 q trim turbo.
