Question Now I guess turbos are cheating too.

Look at the comments on this video.

Heres the a quote

"I dunno. Turbos work largely because of heat, and there tends to be a whole lot less heat at the tail end of your car than right up against the manif old. Just seems to me like a cheater kit for people who are too lazy to ge t underneath the engine and figure out how to attach a real turbo. Though I could be wrong, I suppose."

I've got a buddy that told me N2o was cheating. Then I took him for a ride one day in my car (with a 200hp shot), then I had to helped him install his first kit on his car. Now the boy can't quit.....

Power is power, no matter how you make it. Why can't people grasp that
concept?

A question of the ages, it amazes me some people dont think huge roller cams, giant heads and tunnel rams are 'power adders'

Best one was a guy on a local board claiming V8s are dual power adder cars because a supra only has 6 cylinders..

power is power yes, but i much prefer or better put, i'll rather have boost than nos. Nos, to me, is not that difficult to install and is a quick, almost non-expensive way of gettin that power when compared to boost or n/a power. If you spray and win, ok, you won "on the spray, off of it, well, different story"

With boost or N/A.. your always on, so no excuse except for you. I used to think nos was a way of cheating since my experience with ppl that i have raced on it never want to admit that they have. I still feel that its a cheap way to go fast, not ecuz it is less expensive, but, its just "cheap" However, guys that run serious nos kits, directs, two-three stages i have a complete different view and respect very much. It took some time to get that worked out properly. But, if you have a nos kit and use if for insurance, well, i usually shruge at that. What can i do, a win is a win, right? And power is power.... i just like different forms and respect craftmanship and work... not insurance.

Now, turbo's are for cheaters ..... i remember reading an article where some in professional NHRA felt that twin turbos was like having TWO seperate poweradders, ance since you are only allowed one poweradder in that class, racers, which lost to the twins, felt and voiced that yeah, adding another turbo was like cheating and breaking the rules. "Well, what about those extra steps of nitrous your running?

ya know, i was just talking about that with a buddy of mine. His claim was that if you achieve to beat a v-8 car, with a turbo straight 4, you have achieved more than vice versa. I understood his reason however it was amusing listening to how he came up with that.

We talked shinanigans for a while and i think he still feels the same way. Funy you said that kp, a poweradder is ANY that is supplimented to the engine to make more power, right? Well, a cam adds more power....hmmm? That was another point of our discussion...

there are 2 kinds of racers:
cheaters and losers
i guess also having a stroker engine would also qualify as a cheat, and ported heads with bigger valves, solid roller, etc. etc, etc.
so what about the fellas runnin with big cubes and boost and spray
what does that make them?

you are right a power adder is just that. I think cheating like with nos is the dumb kid wanting to race for $1000 with a all motor honda and a bottle hidden under his dash so no one has a clue it is their. If you have it and say you do that is a different story. if i tell someone my car is all motor with a electronic blow off they beleave me i couldnt take the dumb kids money anyway.

have'nt you ever seen those electric blow off valves you hook it to your tps and when you let off the gas it sounds like a blow off. I was just saying that some people are pretty stupid some times.

Yea I know I thought I would get more people to look if I said turbos are cheating. But really why because you have a turbo that is easier to put on cheating? A turbo kit is a turbo kit weather its in the front or the back. I find it funny how the guy says the sts isnt a real turbo. Im not sure what the record is for a rear mount but I dont think its that bad for what it is.

This is the video just read the comments its about 3 or 4 down.

What I was getting at is that alot of ppl think things are cheating until thay have fun with it or ride in a car with it. To me if you don't hide the fact that you have it, its not cheating no matter were or how it is installed.
