Not just the engine. That made that power with stock fuel system. That is very impressive.

they always have had good engs just small displacement and having to need boost to stay with GM . now that GM is going induction on their bigger displacement eng you will see the benchmark moved up and i dont think ford is ready for that!!!

no point in looking at that......that is not a deciding factor on choosing between platforms, when trying to make 800+ horsepower.

In my opinion its a matter of taste, do you want it in Mustang form or C5 form?

That twin turbo GT that made 1k rwhp is on TOTALLY stock fuel system. Thats insane lol. Does the GT500 have low empedeance injectors? cause i cant imagine makin that much power on high's. GL

Yes, 1012 rwhp on stock fuel system (other than a boost a pump) with the 16 32# high impedance injectors.

(it has 16 60's in it now..... along with more pumps, before sema the car put down 1181 rwhp still using the stock pcm, still electronic returnless fuel stystem, and running a OMG!!! a MAF.

Based on the GT500 computer calibration, the injectors are around 48#'s an hour for the 2007 shelby cobra.

that doesnt matter a whole lot seeing as how the gt500 is a 50k car MSRP and the vette has been reported many times as being over 6 digits. better yet, you can go out and buy the gt500 tomorrow. cant buy that vette at this point.

Coupes are $43K MSRP. Pretty reasonable IMO given today's market.

Ford built the 400+ HP 5.4 32V Cobra-R and could have made a production motor out of that, but with boost they can have a much more broad powerband so they chose to go that route. The 5.4L mod motors are very, very potent naturally aspirated, but peak numbers don't mean everything.

Regardless of how they get there, Ford is definitely bringing it with their new products. This is a prime example.....800+ rear wheel from a simple bolt-on kit. Try that with an LS1 or LS2. It ain't happening. That is just crazy. I said from day one if these GT500's were anything like the '03-04 Cobras, it was game over for us GM guys without some serious cash and serious mods.

i wouldnt call a KB swap a simple bolt on. yes they made good power but i will say this again it is a purpose built motor for induction, when GM puts out the induction motor based LSX you will see ford will be behind again. GM makes the same power stock for stock NA or better than the fords, see the Z06 505 hp vs 500 hp GT500 , what would you expect that eng to produce if you put boost on it????

I'm sure if the GT500 was na and 427ci it would make more power than the Z06 but the what if game can go on all day.

What if GM strapped a rocket ship to all of there cars. Then we could fly to the moon. This can go on all day and it has many times. Ford is a domestic and so is GM let unite and take on the imports. American power!!!!

Some one better not start talking about how some imports are fast now. We know.

if you read the quote earlier you would see this started when i said ford builds smaller ci motors then adds boost to compete with GM. Ford doesnt build a 427 the 5.4 is their largest stock block that is made period. if you add a power adder like a blower to the Z06 it will blow the doors off the ford 5.4. thats simple math. Ford decided back in the 2000 year area to go forced induction to get power, the went smaller eng , and stayed on par with that combo. if you look at the dyno graph of the c5 with the KB you can see it makes alot more earlier by almost 200 tq than the GT500. it is impressive that the gt500 makes that kind of power with a KB and stock fuel, but i still like my BOWTIES.
