Oh but I never mentioned it was to be like Paul Major's turbo setup. Yes it's a single large frame turbo but it will be in front of the motor. The intercooler will be my passenger mounted were the right seat used to be. Dedenbear powerglide, Fab 9" running a tourque arm and all tied together via a 25.5 c/m cage. At this time I'm undecided on the block. Should I go super strong & heavy with the LSx or go with the lighter Warhawk block?

if you can find a warhawk go with that for weight savings. plus it has 6 bolt pattern for the heads so you'll be able to really push that motor far. the iron can go up to 500 cubes which is cool.

I drove my 01 TA to work everyday for several years putting down 500+RWHP on a cam, headers, and a good size shot of N2O. Now I have an 02 SOM Z28 putting down 421RWHP on motor and possibly well over 500RWHP on a 150 dry shot next summer. I think 500RWHP is all I want or need for the street since I stay away from the strip(breaking too much stuff). After the 500RWHP mark it is going to get really, really, really expensive. Clutch, tranny rebuild, rearend, and other supporting mods.

GTBMad is my hero!!!

My old street gn motor dynoed over 600rwhp.
It went 135mph in a 3900 plus lbs car.
This was with the new owner, since it was a street motor I never checked.

I just entered the 500+rwhp club, and as other people have stated. It's a big difference if you haven't been in something like that before. I admit at first, my eyes were wide with shock at how fast it felt. Now I've gotten a bit more use to it, and I just smile a whole heck of a lot when I hit the gas.

Although it's always enjoyable to get a new passenger along once in awhile. There most common statements is "Oh $hit" stated several times very fast.

I'd like to say this is enough power for me, but once i finish my suspension work I'm sure I'll be looking into possibly getting some heads on the car or maybe getting more boost via pulley swaps. Time will tell.

Btw, I went from 351 rwhp to 517rwhp...so it was a rather large jump, hence the shock.

Do you use C16 in the stand alone? I was considering doing that and relocating the batt to the rear.

I am a 1000hp dreamer that has recently just started the process of building an intermediate ~500rwhp setup. I doubt I'll ever attain that 1000hp dream, but I'll go as far as I can afford to go.

My 420rwhp LS1...kinda Boring
My Ported Eaton Cobra 520+rwhp..... kinda fun.
My KB Cobra 600+rwhp..............Pretty f-in fun.

Yes, I too want a 1000 hp car but it would be useless on the street. At or above 500whp is the limit of traction on the street, so anything over that is just bragging. My .02

I voted as to never having more then 500 rwhp before but the truth is I am yet to have 350+ rwhp

But the good news is that I have a 408 motor being built that should put me in the 450-500 rwhp range with a 200 shot pushing that into the 6xx (hopefully)

I am all ready scared shitless about driving a car with that power the first time so I couldn't imagine 1000 HP. And on the street? No way. IMHO 1000 HP cars belong at a track (drag, autox or whatever). To me that's an accident or arrest waiting to happen.
