Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback.
How is the tuning? Is it any more difficult to tune than anything else? Do I need to fiddle with it after every season?
I am planning to go with the F1A but I need to set it and forget it for a while. I won't be building a motor to support the real power so I'll want to saftely stay around the 550-575 mark on the stock shortblock for a while.

I love my d1sc setup! With mods in sig, and 8 psi instead of 7, i put down 446 rwhp and 422 rwtq...not bad for a bolt on lt1...ive added pacesetter long tubes and lanes true duals, and will be adding a blower cam soon, so i should be over that 500 mark...but overall, i like the drivability you get with centrifugals.

What's funny is the guy who bought my old kit has had great success with it. Maybe the stars and the moon weren't aligned properly when my kit was installed.
Blowers are capable of working, but I think they are far more trouble than they are worth. Start with turbos and be done with it. Just my .02.

Like I said, 50lbs of **** in a 5lb bag. There just isnt enough room in our cars to do it all right and not seriously modify things. For someone with a lot of time and money and more energy than me, its not bad. Its also a never ending money pit. Ive mented 2 motor mounts (poly), had to buy enough heat wraping to cover the whole car, the wastegate is too small (PTS kit), Im melting/ burning through the turbo blanket, etc, etc, etc....
If you custom make your own kit, then it wont be as bad, but to get both exhaust to the front, and then to the back while keeping good ground clearence is a good challenge. Id rather have a D1, headers and still make 700 with no problems and less parts.

I am very happy with my D-1SC f-body kit from EPP. The only issue that I have had is with water being sucked into the intake when it rained. This issue may be particularly related to 98 firebirds because of the location of the turn signal lights and foglights (right in front of the air filter for the procharger kit). As I drove, the air and rain would flow through the holes just above the lights and drench the air filter. I eventually enclosed the air filter in a section of aluminum air duct to prevent the problem. It is not the prettiest solution, but I have not had an issue with the rain again. Hopefully, this will prevent somebody else from learning the hard way like I did.
Also, FYI, if you go with a f-body procharger kit, I would recommend getting the welded air plenum as my plastic one did not hold the pressure.
