Default Anyone ever regret going with a procharger?

Any one ever regret going with a procharger and wish they would have stayed N/A or had gone a different FI route?

Can you guys explain the reasons if so.

I am interested in doing a procharger and want to hear about any of the "gotchas" that people have encountered, if any.

I know it's obviously ex$$pensive and read the sticky. I am more interested in hearing about the belt slip, tuning, or any other problems that may exist that I haven't read alot about.

Thanks

My only regret was not starting out with the d1sc. I started out with the p1sc, now i have to upgrade. Once i purchased the sdce tensioner all belt slippage ended. I hear from Bob @ EPP that with the Procharger 8 rib assembly and bigger crank pulley, the belt slippage has been eliminated.

All along I wished I could go twin turbo...but it was just too cost prohibitive.
I'm happy with my setup though

I am very happy with my Pro Charger setup. I had some issues with small belt slip, but that was due to my stock tensioner. I havent had a single problem since the new tensioner was installed.
I agree as said above, if you go this route, get the D1SC kit and the larger intercoolers upograde.

I hated going from 12.3 ET to 10.7's with just the addition of a P1 on my Vette.Had no motivation to make it faster after that

The car has 20k miles on it without any problem either.Still has the same belt

NO...Wish I had more low end torque, but I will probably do another car later, and or a different more optimal cam choice and motor. I do love my pro charger. It is reliable and has a top end hit sort of like my dirt bike. I would not part with the car or charger, well unless for an eventual F series.

Whats the typical longevity on a procharger?

Do you have to let them warm up to full operating temps before moving the car at all?

No not really...Just don't get into it until you are warmed up but that's usually only like 5 or 10 minutes of driving...

I've been completely happy with mine. If you don't have emission restrictions you may wan't to go with a bigger procharger. The only mistake I'd say is not going with something bigger thant the d1sc and the biggest high impedance injector money can buy. So that I have as much room to grow as desired. One thing, boost is addictive nomatter what form... The dirty little secret it that they will suck up water so if it is your dd be careful. I don't know if the "sock" will keep it from doing just that. And for those who say to stay outta boost in the rain to keep water from going into the intake... they don't know jack from ****.

We haven't encountered a problem in the rain with the ATI ProCharger inlet assembly, but the assembly we created above would take care of potential problems. Bob

Do you have something like this to fit on a F1R?

No I don't, it would be extremely tight, to say the least. Bob
