I am confused!
I thought by freeing up the exhaust that I would probably lose a pound of boost...which was 8 #'s w/ cats...
spoke w/ ProCharger...they said they didn't have an answer for me...
the first thing they said was that I had a major restriction somewhere...asked me if I changed muffler when I got rid of cats...NOPE...
someone else asked about the blow-off working...but hell, if it wasn't working properly I wouldn't see increased boost @ WOT...and anyways, I can hear it when I let off...

btw...it is a P1SC...
no belt adjustment...no pulley change (yet) from the 4.0"...
temperature drop yes...both WOT runs were at or below 45 degrees AAT...
nothing else touched other than cat delete... EXCEPT...I did remember yesterday that Jerry filled my AquaMist tank with methanol that was about 1/2 full of distilled water and isopropyl alky...

Cold weather and it sounds like the inlet pipe fell off.

some have mentioned a faulty gauge...it's an Autometer Pro Comp Ultra Lite...
the gauge seems to be working fine under daily driving though...experiencing same vac/boost levels that I always have...I dunno...

I thought of one other change I made between the two boost levels...installation of a 160 degree thermostat...

Cold weather will make more boost but I doubt 4lbs on your setup.
The inlet can do that. The filter they supply is small and restrictive.
Of course the gauge could be wrong.

Is the boost gauge electric, and is it wired to a cranking power source?

jake...gauge is mechanical...
slowhawk...you mean that the filtered inlet that I currently have could increase boost over the one supplied by ProCharger...right? I agree with that as well as the inlet to TB that I now have would definitely increase boost over the restrictive one supplied by ProCharger...but both of these were in place w/ cats...
The more I think about what Jerry said, the more I think that he has something...if the new filtered inlet and the new inlet to TB both have the potential of increasing boost significantly...maybe it wasn't witnessed in late Summer due to the inefficient IC...45 degree weather and the higher flowing exhaust assisted in overcoming that obstacle...thus...a very significant increase in boost has now been witnessed...
Alot of guys have relocated their filtered inlet...but usually have increased the length of it by several feet...and bends...
several guys have upgraded their IC's...but with no change to the filtered inlet...or inlet to TB either...

Yes.

I would just take out some timing on the higher boost levels for safety till you hit a dyno.

Strange scenario, but I suppose 4 psi is possible with the wrong/right conditions with an inefficient intercooler. The pure methanol will help to keep your engine from self destructing, but as Slowhawk mentioned, the tune needs to be checked. Bob
