Stock block done!!!!!!!!!!!!
My buddy took a look at things and Mr. pres pretty much summed it up. Even with the plugs out it still won't turn more than a 1/4 turn. Must have bent the rods when my mad boostin' JDM starter tried to turn over my hydro locked block
I just don't get how or when it sucked up any water. We have a few theories but they are just "water under the bridge now" for lack of better terms---excuse the horrible pun.
So back to research for the perfect T76gts block specs I go!!!!!
I'm thinkin' Alum 370, 8.5:1........thoughts?
Weird.
I was TURTLING when I drove it home from work. It was driving fine. It was pouring rain and I was seriously granny driving under 2000 rpms at 5% throttle.
I will be using headstuds on the new block regardless. I just had the ARP bolts on this one. Doesn't the iron resist lifting more? That recent thread with all the big dogs saying alum is perfectly fine for less than 1000whp has me all mind fucked.
Do they make a water sock for the larger filter? I forget the exact specs but I think mine is 9" long.
One theory about the water is that the constant mist of water while I was driving in the rain just coated and built up in my piping, intercooler, and IM. Then once it sat for a few hours it all sort of pooled, so that when i tried to start it a few hours later, it got a quick gulp instead of the mist it had been getting. Far fetched.......I know. but just a thought.
