Turbo pistons, rods

I'm running custom Diamond pistons and some 6.125 rods + 70cc heads and have 8:1 compression. I had about the same compression when I had 317 6.0 heads. When picking pistons you just have to make sure the manufacturer says that their pistons can support your power goal. I have also heard good things about Mahle and JE pistons.

I'm looking at/for pistons for my T76 enhanced LT1. The LT1 stock head CC is 54cc and I have a 6.0" H-beam rods. How in the world are you guys getting that highly desirable SCR with those long rods in the LS1's with only a 16cc dish on the pistons? Is the LS1 Piston pin just down on the slug so far that you end up with that figure? Also, what prices are you seeing typically for the JE/Mahle/Diamond sets? And what Rings? Hellfire? I found one piston vendor that stated with my setup (383, highly ported stock LT1 Castings with 54cc chambers, 6.0" rods, .049 head gasket compressed height) that he could only get me to 9.3 SCR unless I dropped down to a 5.7 rod.
THanks guys. As always, great responses from the best.

I emailed Diamond themselves today, asking for a part number for my application and goals and they emailed it right back within 45 minutes. Here's his email addy..."Eric Simone [esimone@diamondracing.net]"
I sent him all this so he'd know what to recommend...

How’s it going?
I have a ’96 Chevy Z28 with an 383 LT1. I’m converting to a T76 Turbo and all the guys at LS1Tech.com are recommending your forged turbo/blower pistons. Here’s the info on my application.
Motor Type: stock cast iron LT1 block
Bore: 4.030
Stroke: 3.75
Rod Length: 5.7” (H-Beam, Forged and bushed for full floating piston, capable of supporting 1,000 Hp)
Heads: Stock Aluminum LT1 castings, heavily ported by a pro w/54 to 58cc combustion chambers
Head gaskets: Nominal compressed height of .049
Anticipated Horsepower: 600 Rear Wheel
Fuel: Premium Pump gas for the street, race gas at the track
Anticipated Usage: 80% street, 20% strip
Desired Static compression Ratio: 8.5:1
Do you have a Diamond Piston part number I can refer to when I talk to a Diamond Distributor?
Thanks!

He replied :
My part number #11426 gives the compression you want, but is for a 6" rod - not a 5.7 rod.
31cc dish - and it's designed for blowers/nitrous use.
$750.83 per set including pins - rings are extra.
Thanks for the e-mail..!!
