Default What turbo

built 346ci head,cam,intake

I wanted a PT76GTS but know one has them and the price is $1400.00

There is a T76MPS and its also $1450.00 with a wait.

Then there is a T76GTQ that I can get for $1075.00 I can get from a dealer local.

Will the T76GTQ hold into 800rwhp or do I need to look else where. Again I only want to buy a turbo once. I am thinking of going to a Super T76 and add reducers if this is going to suit my needs of not have to upgrade down the road.

The T76MPS would be nice if you can't get the 76GTS. 800rwhp is not an easy feat.

BTW, sent you a PM, and also we have the Super T series available as well with the big covers.

Well first off ask them are they T-netics or PTE turbos, cause PTE only has GTQ and GTS wheels and if they are PTE units, they better hope PTE doesn't see it. Be leary with folks that don't know what they are talking about.

That's a regular old Turbonetics T76 Q-trim on a 363" Ford. A PT76-GTQ flows even more than that. More than capable of hitting 800 RWHP.

That was the much debated dyno #'s on turbomustangs.com. The problem with that is no one has even come close to those #'s with that turbo again on a similar setup. Heck even a 76GTS would be hard pressed to match that.

A 76-GTS wouldn't be hard pressed to match those numbers if you SPUN IT. He was running 30+ PSI, most people don't seem to be willing to really spin the **** out of their turbos. There was another TM.com member who made 900 RWHP on a 74-GTQ with an on-center housing because he wasn't afraid to push 27 or 28 pounds of boost out of it.

Also keep in mind, they posted he was using that turbo with an On-center housing (Cartech kit), 30psi and 8:1A/F.....that doesn't add up at all. First a 76 won't make 30psi on a well breathing 363 and an On-center would made that even worse...unless he was getting what Jose calls as ghost boost..

We had a 355 LT1 with a 76GTS, .96A/R Tang V housing which flows alot more and would spike to 23-24psi but could not sustain more then 21psi. That is with the gate shut completely and the turbo was flat maxed out. The turbo just wouldn't make anymore boost. A T76 Q-trim with an On-center won't come close to the 76GTS....so not sure how he pulled those #'s off, and alot of folks on that board weren't sure either.

Well 1st would be 76GTS...from PTE, then the 76MPS from T-netics. The 76GTQ, well it depends which 76GTQ you are refering. If its the PTE unit then its a nice piece....if not, then I don't know which GTQ it is, since that's PTE's unit.

Yeah it shows a PTE unit indeed. Actually it looks unbelievable, since they cost wholesalers more then they are selling them for.....hmmm. I'm sure when PTE sees this post in the morning, they won't be happy.....lol, looks like their will be one less PTE dealer around...hehe

Think were looking at 2 different things.

New Turbonetics T04R GTQ turbo. Available with a T-66 or T-76 compressor wheel and .81 or .96 A/R turbine housing. T-66 rated up to 800HP and T-76 rated up to 1100HP. Comes with Turbonetics 1-yr No-Fault Warranty!

I am sure it out flows the T76GTS alot. The down pipe will need to have a expander which really not be a issue in my eyes.

Also. Dr.Turbo

Explain the
Turbonetics T04R GTQ turbo. You said it was a garrent peice too but I that Turbnoetics and garrent were one in the same at some time. And that turbo is rated at 1100hp.
