theres really no special way....you launch it like your car was still N/A. Problem is as soon as the boost hits on the top of 1st it always breaks the tires loose

auto....use transbrake(if equipped) or footbrake to build boost before leaving

m6....needs a 2 step, wired into the clutch petal.....pushing the clutch activates the 2 step, put the gas petal to the floor and release the clutch when the car has built boost. If it needed more or less adjust rpm/tune.

Sorry should have said its a m6. What does the first stage of the 2 step do? Sounds interesting.

A 2 step cuts ignition to a cycle of cylinders. When the fuel isnt burned in the cylinder it goes into the exhaust/headers/manifolds and burns there. This ignition spools the turbo.

I have set up many customers turbo cars for both a full and pro tree. If the class your racing is a full tree as most are use a 2 step but don’t use the clutch petal switch to activate because if don’t take there foot completely off the gas petal and when you push the clutch in to shift gears and hit the switch again a huge backfire will happen. Put the activation switch somewhere else and use your finger as you would a trans brake. Once your staged press the button go to wot, last yellow comes on let the button and clutch go at the same time. You will need to experiment to get the rpm right but with my experience about 2200 to 2500 rpm works best.

I've used a 2-step @4,400 and 10psi boost which has got me 1.49-1.51 60ft's with 27x 11.5 15 hoosier QTP's.

I've also slipped the clutch out at 5k RPM and pulled a 1.56 60ft on 275 40 17 ET street radials.

Either way is hard on the clutch, but it's definitely a balancing act with the gas/clutch as to not bog/spin if you're not using a 2-step.

WOW, now thats amazing!!!!!! This is why i love this board! I've been having a serious problem bogging off the line even with a 150 shot. Where do I get the 2 stage from?

I tried to use a hand held button to launch my old turbo car with an m6. I always seemed to forget to release the damn button in the fray of grabbing for the next gear and working the clutch to ensure it came up well. If you don't use a clutch switch, I recommend a dash or console mounted button that you will release when you reach for the shifter. Might be just me tho.

off topic, but is having a 2-step and a trans-brake the best for an A4 or just the brake?

A Trans brake will work to build boost but a 2 step will build boost faster and lets you hold a certain RPM and steady boost... not needing to watch how much gas you give the pedal... Just have the 2 step wired into a Trans brake and just put it to the floor.....

ok i understand. another ? if you had a trans-brake, 2-step and stall(lets say the stall locks at 3.8k), would this be the optium(sp) setup?

pre-stage, activate 2-step(2step set right below stall lockup), stage, trans brake, floor it, green and go?

The 2step is nice because it gives you the ability to select the launch rpm. So far with my setup the 2step is an absolutely neccessity my car is laggy down low.
