Default Safe for 5lbs?

Would 42# injectors and a 255lph pump be plenty for 5lbs? Also what is your opinion on boosting a 100k mile lt1?

You can boost it, but it will be a time bomb.

Your fueling system should be more than adequate for 5psi.
LT1s though...love the iron block, hate the amount of bolts in the main. I say it's time for a little engine rebuild for you...make some big NA numbers and be done with it!

5lbs will be safe and fuel will be fine. its all in the tune. i think the thing that some of us are getting at is that the compression on the lt1 is like 10.5 or higher :1 i think.. while the ls1 is 10.1 or 10.2 :1

Another approach would be to boost it (you will love the power) and rebuild it when you have to. It is a great motor to boost, do not be afraid.
The fuel system you suggest will handle all your requirements. If you do not exceed 400 hp or so, you should be safe enough. As safe as a 1000k engine can be.

My stock fuel system was inadequate at 5 psi boost. I upgraded to 42# injectors and a Walbro 255 as you are planning and raised the boost to 7 psi at the same time. I ran 5 psi for about 4 months before tuning and didn't blow it up (although I didn't push it too hard). The motor had 80k miles at the time also. Now it's at 90k and still going...

You should not have any problems at 5 psi with a good tune. Bob

Milage shouldn't be the problem as long as the block has good compression and leak down rate...
