If I use the round flange and "port" the exhaust housing, so thier is no edge, will that work just as good as anyhting?? Also, how do you seal the flange? Special gasket?? Some sealer of some sort???

Thanks - Ron

That TTi setup uses round hole on a single turbo setup (much more restrictive then a twin setup). If they ave no problem making power then I doubt you wil too. You can chamfer the edges of the housing if you want to smoth the transition, but its not neccessary. Most people uses the orange hi temp gasket maker to seal the T4 flange.

i made over 1000rwhp thru one 2.5" round hole. if it is a restriction i dont think it is hurting much. i did port the turbo slightly, just beveled the edge a little on the sides that were smaller than 2.5" to match the round hole.

you can see the header on the left of this pic.

here is another one i did where i just used the die grinder to shape the flange to match the turbo opening a little better. took about 1/2 hour of work though.

a turbo with a vband flange will be awsume. i would pay a little extra for that!

Parish - Round flanges and "log" headers, and still making that kind of power! Im sold! As long as I dont have a leaking problem, I should be alright. Will orange RTV really seal the flange ok? Should I trim my AL gasket and use sealer?? Someone told me that Loctight makes a machine surface "locker" that would work better. Any thoughts?

Thanks - Ron

The orange hi temp gasket maker will work fine. Dont use aluminum gskets as they have raised rectangular bead for sealing, and your circle opening wont be sealed well. Brian at B&G Turbo has made 100's of turbo kits for mustangs and thats all he tells his customers to use is the orange stuff.

Anyone who is worrying about a 2.5" T4 inlet vs. a 3" just doesnt understand just how small the area gets before turbine wheel.
