Default what are good heads for FI?

ok well ive come down to deciding in staying with the standard ls1,2,6 setup with 15* heads. what are the best heads i can get to use for high boost? i dont want to go over to an iron block i will be using ARP studs and dont want to have a problem with my heads lifting under boost. what can i do and what heads should i choose? a lot of people seem to use AFRs is that my best choice?

AFR 225s are great if you have the money. I bought some 6L heads & had them reworked. I have around $1500 total invested in them. I have an iron block with Cometic gaskets....no problems after 1 year. Get heads with big chambers to keep the CR low.

Heads are not nearly as critical with FI....we have made 1700+hp with cathedral port heads. Don't getme wrong, a good head is a benefit, but not as crucial compared to a normally aspirated application.

So other then the deck thickness, the rest of the head isnt all that important? Im trying to decide on heads now, considered LQ9s and darts, maybe AFRs but i dont wanna drop that coin honestly. Especially if its really not that important.

We use Patriot Performance LQ9 heads on a lot of our builds. Stage 2 for smaller cube engines, Stage three for the larger cube engines.

ya i know flow numbers dont matter too much with FI but the only reaswon i mentioned AFr was cause of their thicker deck. i am ok with spending the money for AFRs just wanted to know what is the best so i dont have to worry too much about lifting the heads...

well there are plenty of guys running single digits on production heads without too many problems...but if you have the money burning a hole in your pocket, get the AFR's if thats what you really want because in the end its your decision to make.

AFR 225's will to well. Personally I like the TFS heads. After seeing a buddies flow numbers off of his LE ported TFS heads, I would highly reccomend them, especially for the price.
