STS Dyno!
I measured my IAT's at 5PSI before adding the FMIC. 130+ degrees normal cruising in Hawaii w/ around 85 degree outside temp and 80% humidity. Computer begins massively pulling timing above 100 degrees.
With the FMIC my IAT's have never exceeded 104, and that was driving the car like a total a$$. The STS intake pipe comes close to the driver side header, and the radiator/ power steering pump cooler lines. The intake charge picks up a lot of heat from these. Bottom line, you really DO need a FMIC, regardless of the BS STS puts out.
Just my $0.02
Anytime you can cool the charge you can make more power and be safer.
