With about 520 rwhp I ran 275/40/17's on my stock SS rims and they would hook but they are a very soft tire and will wear out fast.
for basic street use I run 305/30/18 Nitto Drag Radials wiht my 18" wheels. It won't hook from a dig but if I get some speed going, I can mash it and it will go. the bigger wheel and slightly taller tire cuts down on the gearing.

How do you like the 305/30/18 Nitto DR's? They are the same ones I will be getting in a month. Did you have to pound in any of the inner rear wheel well to make them work? Are you lowered at all?
