Default 9seconds or faster running drag radials?

Self explanatory... What tire to use with 4400 stall w/ brake and 2 step... She should go 9.50-9.90 with upgrades from previous year... Running in a drag radial class and curious what the best radial to get and size from people with experience running them? Any one have suggestions?

I currently run a 28x10.5x15 M/T ET Drag on the rear...

I am not so sure a drag radial will take the shock load of a trans brake.

i know its not the same, but i leave at about 4000 off the brake on nitrous(150 shot) on 325/50/15 m/t radials and cut 1.37-1.42 60's all day, but will probably be much different on a forced induction car huh

The 325/50/15 Micket Thompsons are popular for Drag Radial and meets class specs.
Ask if you can run the 315/60/15 Mickey Thompsons. They are significantly taller and just as wide with more sidewall for wrinkle and bite, but in some Drag Radial classes you cannot run them. LOL.

The 50 series tire is ok for handling but not for drag racing you need more sidewall flex. Use the 275/60/15 it will work better. We use a boost controller like the Exile or ITS and can't leave with much more than 8 psi and 3600 rpm. We tried more boost and the front end would lift a foot or so then blow the tires off. We were able to run low 1.40 60's and et of 8.84 @162.XX at 20 psi. The boost controller is the trick. We ran 2 psi over the 8 psi spring the used the 5 stages to ramp it up to 20 psi in about 5 seconds. Good Luck

Yea I have the red Trans Am which runs at Milan... The car went 9.90 with a blown cylinder in October... Changed somethings and she should run a lil faster...

I wanna know what tire will work best with the 2 step... I'm not gonna put money into a bs3/ boost controller... Out of funds at the moment... Im just curious to see what will work to get by for the season... Hopin to get a good drag radial, adjust the 2step and play with the suspension to get the car to hook... If all else fails, I wont run the VP drag radial class @ milan and wait till next season... These classes are gettin outta control... Going 9.50s if im lucky i'll beg to qualify 15th and 16th...

Looks like the 325,50,15 will be my best route... that 275 tire is way too small for my liking... Especially puttin down over 850HP

Any other suggestions besides prayin? - LOL

those tires hook very well. my buddy has run an 8.5 at 160 with them in his 96 formula race car.

you'll need to dial in your suspension and also may need to get front end limiters.
