Alrighty. Here is the current situation. The a/c condenser radiator config does not work. The hot radiator air blowing across the condenser eventually drives the a/c pressure high enuff to get the compressor to short cycle..aka..no a/c. Joel is aware of this, already ordered a condenser that we hope will cure this problem. I am sure Joel will contact everyone once a good solution is available. It will be fixed so dont worry about that.

Other than that, I have had probs with #5 spark plug wire. It touches the header and then cooks. As long as it doesnt touch, its fine. I use MSD wires and have a few extra. There is 1/4" of boot that can be trimmed off where it touches and that SHOULD give us PLENTY of air gap to alleviate that problem. No probs with the rest of my wires.

Kit is making awesome power...dunno how much yet but i will try to hit the track sunday. I do know that in 3rd gear at around 55mph....go wot and as it reaches around 80-85mph, you lose all traction!! I am getting a cutout installed friday and another bracket to support the turbo. I will let everyone know about the bracket....should work better than Joels...according to Joel himself. I like it that he is open to new ideas.
I have had no probs with leaks or heat with the power steering or anything else...just the one plug wire which I hope will be solved in a few minutes.

the condenser would be that catch-can looking over on the passenger side, right?

sounds good though, it helps to have a builder that is willing to add to his kit or product without take to-much offense.

also, im using the stock radiator which will be shifted over enough to clear the hairdryer! What tires you running cable?

The condenser would be the large flat radiator-resembling item in front of the stock radiator...

Looks like I may not have a/c for the beach after all.

I will actually just be happy to drive the car to the beach...or around the block for that matter...

oh, thanks hawk. Interesting, im not understandin why or how is there now an increase in temp. emitted from the radiator and to the condensor. Isn't the condensor infront of the radiator?

cable, thats a aftermarket rad. right? Also, are you running a front mount a2a of a2w? Could the condensor be flat mounted, much like the dual intercoolers in the procharger kit, so it can get a direct charge of cooled air and away from the rad.? Cable, you had a incon before this, was your a/c working prior? What do you think might be the cause with this new kit to enduce more heat on the condensor?

the OFI kit comes w/ a different radiator and moves the a/c condenser to the backside of it...push fans on the front of the radiator push hot air through the condenser...eventually kicking it off...as he explained several posts back...
Jerry is running a A2A FMIC...and yes he had a/c w/ the the Incon set-up...

Condenser used to be in FRONT of the radiator...OFI put it behind it and now it catches all the hot air from the radiator. Joel is working on a solution

I got the DEI fiberglass boot covers at Advanced Auto or Oreilly auto...summit has em too

a/c worked fine with incon

The taylor wires work much better since the head of the wire that goes on the plug is alot smaller.... i had the same problem with MSD'd and the protective boots on there as well.....
switched to the Taylor wires and now its only once in a while.... but that hasnt been for months now.... i still carry a spare just in case LOL

Looking good so far man.....
can wait till ya hit the track.

it could move as close as this ...suprisingly it wasnt burn at all

you can see its 1/4"


i got the boot tight against the wire close to where it comes close to the header...used a steel tie from DEI at oreillys


now you can see the clearance is much better...sharpie for reference



final clearance with the wire ziptied to the coil pack. Its ghetto but will work
