Default New S88 turbo hits the track.....

One of our customer's e-mailed us his timeslip from this past weekend. The car is a fox body mustang running a R block and 33X ci engine...solid roller, TFS Hi-port heads, ..etc..etc. Car weighs 3181lbs.

This was on 27psi.....turbo is done though. Won't make anymore boost, and boost is dropping back to 24psi at the shift points. Car was on a decent pass until a head gasket let go. Should be a solid running car once the heads are squared away.

Ran a 10.6 with a blown head gasket in the mix? Hopefully that's the case, otherwise I'm disappointed.

If you look at the 1/8th times and mph...it looks to be about a mid 8.5X sec run at about 170mph or so, the 1/4 is a result of letting out an applying the brakes easily...lol. The headgasket blew a right about the 1/8th mile marker.

Well it means the compressor wheel can not support anymore airflow. The main sign is boost dropping towards the redline.

I don't think the car has ever been dynoed. Just tuned at the strip and ran as hard as it will go.

It means its time for a larger turbo...hehe. I suspect the S91 when done should give it a little more kick . If not we now build a mid-frame T91 using Garrett parts that will make some pretty stupid power for its size.

Hey its fast/mph for its size (S88 compact size) , but ET wise their are faster 88mm cars. Of course this was no stellar run as the 60ft was a touch lazy, I imagine the car either needs a touch more convertor, or more aggressive tune down low, or could have just spun the tires a little coming out. If it puts a solid run together with a killer 60ft, it should throw down a 5.2X-5.3X.
