STS Help
STS Help I bought a complete (used) STS kit from someone. I got a great deal on it but I really have no idea what I have. How do you know what turbo, BOV, and other stuff you have? I know absolutly nothing about FI so sorry if these are dumb questions. The guy I got it from pulled it off a car he bought with a nuked motor so he didn't know anything about it. I just need to know what kinda stuff I have.
judging from the info your giving...were in the dark just about as much as you are. Youll need to look at the turbo and read the "A/R" on the side of the compressor. And i believe the exhaust housing will have one too.
Also check the install manual and see if there is a product ID number or some sort of identification for the kit. That way you can call STS and see what all is in your kit.
Or you can take pics close up and post them. We can then maybe figure out what you bought. The BOV should be a TIAL is its from the kit. I would say in the future, DONT buy something unless you know what your getting. use some sense

It came with everything except the install manual. I wouldn't have bought it but it was cheap. I bought a red 98 a4 T/A (with a perfect body) for $3700 and the turbo was on the car. I pulled the motor and it had a small broken spot on the #8 piston between the rings.
Anyways, I wrote down some #'s off the stuff.

If it's the baseline kit, which it appears to be, in good condition, maybe $2k + shipping.
I got mine for under $3k it had the 67mm upgrade, BOV, 2 boost controllers, Meth Kit, shortened I-pipe, extra exhaust housing, huge **** mod, etc, etc.

Dude, I told everyone already, I already installed it. My **** ring is bigger than my BOV...no pun intended of course. And yes, his sister is taking it...with lots of K-Y and yoga.
