I'm running a 160... When are your fans coming on?? Do you have tuning software?? If so just try to turn it down a bit to accomidate the lower temp...

160 here. Normal operating is ~180--187, but I haven't driven in the dead heat of summer yet. This was with my stock block, I haven't tested out the iron 364 yet. Wednesday though my friends.....Wednesday

Hope you have better luck than me! I think that iron block is harder to cool than the aluminum. The extra displacement doesn't help matters either.

I just ordered a 180. I figured if the cooling system couldn't support 160 degrees consistently than why bother trying to hold it there? I think I'd rather try to stick with something consistent than go for something super low. Also, I don't want any check engine lights and I want the option of having heat.

160* water will still blow hot air .stick your finger in 105* water, you cant hold it there.

Personally I would stick to 180, if not the stock temp. 160F is low enough that lubrication efficacy starts to disappear. For wild temps, a bigger radiator would be my choice.
