Is it so right???

What is the different between the 6,0 and 5,3 cast iron block?

Ive seen aluminum LS1 putting out 1200HP or more lol But reliabilty would be with the iron block for higher boost levels like I did! I went with the 6.0 LQ9 for my build, Im planning on 15 or so PSI with a APS TT setup in my 02 SS Camaro. The stock LS1 propably would have been fine, but i was thinking of the future, incase I ever hurt the engine? Its always easyer & cheaper to punch open a cylinder verses replacing the pressed in sleeveslike on the aluminum LS1s!!Sorry for my grammmer also.LOL!! BARNAT

u shouldnt have any problems out of a ls1 bloch horsepower wise
Price ?? Is this a factor for you at all ? If not, go with an iron block and call it a day. You'll be better off in the long run if you ever hurt the engine! It just sucks buying a complette LS1 car to just pull the engine! If this 7 psi is your MAX boost level your EVER, EVER ,going to run STAY with the LS1 block! Its hard to say what the future holds guy! ****, after driving your ride at 7 psi for 6 months your gonna be like ,Man,This isnt ****. LOL You will be looking for 10 or 12psi soon after and so on & so on. LOL!! Its just like CRACK ! you will never feel like you got enough LOL!!Trust me! If you are like me and everbody else that has that need for(( FI FEELING)) go with the iron block from the door! it will be stronger than the LS1 but will be easyer for rebuilding if ever hurt! And buildable if and when you decide on turning up the boost as most will do!! Good luck BARNAT

for the car he is talking about and the power goals he is after the ally block will be much more suited! dont forget the orignal engine was a 2.0ltr Turbo Cosworth motor. it was an iron block. with a ally LS1 and twin turbo he should beable to keep weight in check, but with the iron i dont think he will!

also its a race car, so the added weight would be a real pain!

Hi,
THANKS for help, it`s great to hear that the idee is good.

@barnat:
that LS1 you have saw with Alu-Block and 1200hp, do you now that it was with darton sleeves or not!?
for the first time without forged parts I will go to 5-6psi boost.
I would be happy if it do hold 1000hp, because I want make later 750 to 800rwhp.I think that is more than enough for the first 3 years after them I can purchase the iron.
The alu-block is lighter that would be great if it can hold it.
Do you know anyone where you know 100% that the stock alu-block have made 1000hp.
Please let me know!!!
Which Block has STEVIETURBO`s Granada?

@chuntington101:
I want buy the swap in the USA, here in Europe it is to expensive.

Best Regards for all guys with boost-VIRUS

MArio

LB has run over 1000rwhp on his twin turbo 402 LS2 (ally block). Nick Yoskin has run similar figures on his 427 LS7 twin turbo. nelson racing has built a 400+ ci twin turbo making over 1000bhp. Jeff schwarts has built several LS7 twin turbo engines that make over 1000bhp (most in mid engined sports cars that will spend most thier time at track days doing lap after lap).....

the ally blocks have been proven time and time again to live upto these power figures. like said soo many times its all in the tuning!

have you got any pics of the car with the LT1 mock up in gonzospped?? be intresting to see just how miuch space there is in there. also whats happening to the old Cossy engine?? who built the car?? i think you should bring it over to the uk once finished the guys over here would love it!!

thanks

Chris.

OK,
I belive that they have so much power, only the question is that they have made it with the stock block or lined ally block.
Have not made pics from and have not the engine more here, but the LT1 is 50cm wide between head outsides and the space under the hood is 88cm on the tightes place. So I have minimum 19cm per side for the exhaust housings.
My Cossies I will sale, because I need the money for this Project, it will cost me min.12K-euro.
I have build my car and was tuned in Germany was with all RS500 goodes.
I would bring it over, but that is to expensive, for the engine tuning I have a fraind Cossie-specialist, he has a engine dyno and he will tune my engine.
I think I will go with E85 fuel.
I have buit a big garage for my project and I must look on any cent.
I can not buy a fully built engine or so,I must make the most work by my self.

Best Regards
Mario

PLEASE HELP ME

Hi again guys,

pictures will follow.

I am looking all the time for a LS1+T56 swap or for LQ9 engine on ebay.
My problem are the shipping costs for the parts if I do buy all part for part alone.

If I do buy a truck LQ9 engine, can I use the ally heads for a LS1 intake, are that the same heads lat LS1???
What is the different between LQ4 and LQ9 ?
on eBay is a stroker forged kit for 1400usd, know someone somthink about this kit?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Default danger????

Does this setup look like it will fail and end in fire???????? I fear the fan shroud, plug wires and various other electrical wiring will burn up as they are very close to the exhaust side of the turbo setup.
