Turbo on a 1995 3.4 V6
First off, I understand I can easily buy an LT1. So I want a straight answer..
For the FI gurus - what all would it take to turbo a 3.4? I'm new to FI, so I want to know what parts I would need. Stock motor vs built motor also. How much power could a decent midrange turbo setup put down, along with good gears, aluminum shaft and better diff?
Could a decent setup get me over 250hp on a 3.4? How much $$ would I be looking at on average?
Again, I understand I could easily turbo an LT1, or buy an LT1...

Forced induction costs a lot of money, V6 or V8

My 3.4 made about 350 rwhp with a custom turbo kit I built, surprised a lot of people but to get any more then that starts being way not worth it in my eyes. Need forged internals, stand alone EFI, too much $$$ for a V6 that will only make probably ~600 before the block cracks lol.

350 would do me just fine! Hell 250 would be fine.. I don't need a dragster. Just something quick.. What all did you have done to it? what were the exact parts in your kit? Or for your LS1 swap, how much did you end up spending on it?

i think you'd be better off buying a LT1 and doing a H/C setup with boltons... you'll far surpass ur goals... plus it'll be a VERY SMALL fraction of the cost of turbo-ing the V6 (if dont right)

There is no reason on this earth to take out a loan to buy a high milage LT1. I say this because a lower milage LS1 can be had for only a few grand more than an LT1. You are in a 3.4 because it is cheap. I would advise against buying anything short of a clean low milage LS1 with a loan.
Td04 with front sweeping headers. You are still looking at 3k to do that and probably more, but at least you can buy it part at a time and not have to owe someone more than the car is worth later for it.
BTW, www.fullthrottlev6.com is a good place to find out answers to this question. There are also some powerdyne kits up for grabs there as well. Not what you asked for, but an option.
