First, my response to you has nothing to do with my ego. Your suggestion as such is just a way of avoiding the possibility there is something wrong with the way YOU approached this thread.
Beyond that, I don't think you truly realize the power difference required to make certain trap speeds and ET. Or, you don't take into account at what points FI becomes more or less effective than H/C.
As to viability of FI vs H/C, from what I've seen, most guys that do heads/cam on a stock motor can't get the streetability of FI, IMO. H/C on an otherwise stock car will probably get you 360 to 380 RWHP. Drop-in RWHP with ATI's base kit P-1SC or D-1SC is about 405 to 415 from what I've seen... that's about 100 to 110 RWHP. But, then, you have added weight up front. So guys with M6's need skills with their launch while A4's may fare a bit better.
I ran, with SY3500 stall converter, about 106 MPH at around 13 ET flat (about 13 1/2 secs without stall).
With the base ATI kit, I ran 11.9 at 115.3 MPH.
THAT is a significant difference, but many "nay-sayers" wrote it off as insignificant.
Well, most h/c'ers (with no more suspension mods than I had, and the same type tires) were still in the mid-12's when I checked.
But then, when I ran 10.98 @ 126 MPH, I had to put on more weight with suspension mods to attain that.
(Consistently, I ran 11.11, 11.20, etc.)
So, guess what? ET and trap speeds come down a bit until you can get more power.
THEN, I dropped an Iron Block 422 in... at least 70 more lbs. UP FRONT!
I had to install a 12-bolt to be able to sustain the torque.
The cost of a tranny after the power kill my stock one just kept me spending money to keep it on te road for a while.
THEN, I had to buy larger injectors and put in more powerful pumps.
With boost only at ~6 to 7 lbs., I've run a best of 11.35 at 124 MPH.
Now, nearly 100 lbs. heavier (now at 4000 lbs. with me in it) and 4 #'s less boost, I get about where I was.
But, I have a motor that should handle what I'm about to throw at it.
It's easy for some guy with 9 posts to come on here and trivialize others accomplishments... without showing what THEY have accomplished.
Tell us about YOUR setup. Then we have some perspective to discuss true results based on your putdown of what someone else has done.
We are not just posting to brag. We are sharing our steps, our issues, our successes and failures.
Every time someone rags about, "well, that's nothing... you should be able to", that just kills how we help each other.
A constructive comment on how one may get issues worked out is fine.
Generalizations about how this should be able to do that are not helpful, and are argumentative at best.
