Stupid question: 12# pulley safe?
Now once I get it back to $5K, then I might join you with the 12PSI pulley.

Another stupid question. What do you mean bank balance?

If you got a setup thats tuned right it will last for a while, I can't see anything stock though lasting w/12psi, but you do have the advantage of the iron block...not sure how stong those stock bottom ends are though..
I though it was something like banks of cylinders. I just need a couple of months until my other motor is done. Plus this will give me more tuning knowledge. Any clue of power gain?
My new motor is a 6.0L block honed .40" w/a stock crank for 372c.i. going to run 12psi, hoping for about 600rwhp on that, and more w/more PSI...

12psi will get you a NOTICEABLE power increase....
I also got side tracked when I first read the post, thought bank balance as in 02's, but I then read the statement over again...
I drove it around on 93 octane, but I go an instant 8 PSI when I floored it and the knock would start shortly after that.

with my stock bottom end I'm running sunoco ultra 94 in the truck an have been able to get away with increasing the timing 4 degrees with 9.5 psi so i'm planning on lowering the Shift points down some and lowering the rev limiter to see how the truck like the smaller pulley
4 degrees more advance and no pinging or KR on my truck had to advance it 8 degrees to hear a little but still didn't show any on the tech 2
Out of the hole so far the truck hits 3-5 psi at 3000rpms or so
I'll post when i can get some more data and runs in

GMC SKI please let me know how it works out for you. It will be another week before my pulley arrives and another week before I have the nuts to install it. How many psi is the pulley you ordered?
Without verifying by checking date by file, I believe I was running 22 degrees from 4000 RPMs on up.
I ran that for a long time until I understood how to bump my timing up in places and where to drop it.

Couldn't resist.
