Can someone take a pick looking at the exhaust side's head-on? (like DrTurbo's pic except from the other end)

Who knows. I'd be stoked if this turbo could push me into the eights one day. We'll see. It MIGHT be done by Sunday to go gets its first test.

My 76gts made 710 on 14 psi, I'd like to see what this one will do with 20 psi though some AFRs

We built the ST and SX series to be black as standard. You can get them in standard AL color or polished as well.

Dr. is the S300 the base for these ST series? Would you recommend any of the ST series for 400ci or bigger?

No a S300 bearing housing will not support the level of abuse. We do mix parts from 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600's, plus some of the parts are raw casting and machined to work for the units. Don't ask me how, but Jose and Jason do it...

As for a 400+ci engine, it will work, but the SX in a T4 or full out S-series would be much better suited. The SX is the bad boy........that turbine wheel is flowing almost as much as some of the larger Garrett GT series thumpers (47, 55) and its alot smaller. Jose and Jason though have their hands now on another raw casting they are possibly going to machine to make another bad boy turbine wheel, but depends on availability of the casting. Right now from all the testing being done with BWA and the other turbo manufactures, the turbine side is really being focused on. The gains being picked up by just having a proper turbine wheel and not even touching the compressor wheel has been as much as 100rwhp on some setups. For years the industry has just focused on the compressor wheel size and ignored the turbine wheel. For example we built a custom 80mm ETT unit with a smallish 2.75" turbine wheel for a 2.7 liter engine. That is what the customer wanted exactly since he said he wanted quick spool up. Well on the dyno it made 1081rwhp, but the car was seeing almost 2.75:1 backpressure. Now normally these small engines don't see much backpressure problems, but as the hp numbers keep climbing, they are starting to see problems as well. So he yanked the turbo apart and we asked him to try a SX turbine wheel just for the heck of it and to give us some feedback. Well just swapping turbine wheel and machine the housing (keep in mind same A/R) the turbo picked up to 1278rwhp. Backpressure dropped to 1.5:1 and spool up was only down 200rpms. He was shocked at the difference. Backpressure causes all kinds of weird things to happen to a setup. So when done right, its the key to big power.....
