Since it *is* a recreation of an ex-sponsors kit, use the threads that list the issues to avoid them yourself.... namely a solid motor mount on the driver's side up front, your stock mount WILL burn up.

Frost I know you have a real version of this kit. What's the options for running the down pipe? What are the size limitations? I just looked this up and the price is pretty crazy. I just want to be able to fit a large turbo on there to support my 408. I'm worried about DP clearance along with maintaining AC.

TC76MPS. T4 flange, 3" Down Pipe uses a 3" V-band. Easy decision.

holy cow thats almost as much as i payed for the whole thing!!!!!!! im just gonna sand blast the impeller blades and take the bearings all the way out.... problem solved!

i am really gonna run the kit as shipped with supplied turbo and parts i just wanna see the numbers and boost it makes. and of coarse how long it lasts. im not really worried if / when it breaks im going to swap the kit over to my other camaro and pos. change the flange to a t6 and go with a S80. so i will be the real "test mule" lol. also i noticed that a couple of you guys are turbo already i wanna know if you prefer hp tuners or efi live for forced induction?

thanks for all the helpful info- N2OJOE

Well i think Im gunna be going to an S80 or a something bigger and I am one of the ones with the real deal PTS kits. Mine was originally a T76GTS but was modified by Jose at FI with a better turbine and a T80 compressor on my 408 has been hitting 14 psi with the 14psi spring in the wastegate. But i want the bigger S80 or maybe a bigger SX series. My T80 will be up for grabs only used for a few weeks.

Also not only plan on taking quite a few days to get this all in properly, took me 5-6 full days an Im a mechanic, but I was making it perfect. Make sure you wrap it before hand and save yourself the hassle of doing it later take your time with the downpipe as it likes to hit the steering shaft if it even a little off. Make sure to wrap the 2 center pipes on the drivers side header really good as they tend to burn the spark plug wires also make sure you zip tie them up and use these spark plug boot protectors the reg ones are not that good these are good to 1800 continuous degrees http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?fo...action=product . Personally i went with a set of taylor 409 10.4mm race wires, then used their thermal protective sleeving which is good to 1200 degrees continous and then the boots over them. Over protection maybe, but I am tired of changing plug wires. Burned through almost 2 sets of MSD wires.

Also plan on upgrading your cooling system as my car wanted to run quite a bit hotter so I had to get the temps down to a more comfortable level LT1 rad and 2 16in 2000+ cfm fans one pusher and one puller. The list keeps going make sure you take plenty of time to get the alt relocation in perfect and the belt alignment is good otherwise you'll drive yourself nuts trying to keep the belt on. True you take off the alt but the bracket with the idler has to go back on for the belt just an fyi for that too i didnt know that till i had the turbo in. Make sure you get a good turbo blanket as this will help keep temps down. Plan on some meth it will help on the hot days of summer.

Also almost forgot to mention you will want to make sure you remove the oil pan to do the turbo drain and take your time to do it as it will save you alot of headaches later. Dont believe the guys that say its easy to do in car for one its not easy you cant get a drill in there properly, and for two no matter what you do you WILL get shavings in the pan not worth destroying your motor just to save yourself a few hours worht of work. A smoking turbo is not cool and a poorly designed and executed oil drain is usually the culprit.

Good tune is worth its weight in gold so make sure you take your time with it. I use HP tuners 2 bar speed density and love the thing much nicer than trying to get the MAF to work with the boost. Well here are a few pics of my setup for ya.Just a note turbo blanket wasnt on and the pipes werent wrapped in the first pics and they were later rewrapped in fact I will be taking them out and redoing them even better here soon. Anything you want to ask just feel free HTH

mine is currently a 3in that comes with the setup dont have boost creep but I think my backpressure is up there. There is not room for anything bigger but i will be just adding some spacers too the engine mounts this should free up enough room to make a 3.5 in downpipe then you can use the pipe that comes with the setup as it is dual 2.5 in pipes and i have it joining my 4in mandrel bent exhaust here are some pics of the back half of my exhaust. Yes it still fits with the moser 9in thats in there now but its a little tighter lol please not this is when I was running the F1A and AR headers thats all gone now but where the Y pipe connects is where it was cut and the new pipes connected from the PTS kit I just expanded the section where the 2 pipes converge to 4in and had em welded together.

also i supposibly dont have to relocate the alternator, but judging from the pics it seems like i will have to..

does it look like there is anyway my kit may be slightly modded where it would fit, or does is it way to tight?

Here is a quick link I found for turbos. There are a gazillion places to buy garetts on line. http://www.full-race.com/catalog/ind...009dd2c9d06433
If this is a remake of another kit (pts maybe) then I'm sure they designed it to have a to4s cover fit.

Steve- Give me a call when you want to drop by. I'll also see what pricing I can do for you in regards to a turbo upgrade if you want to go that route.
