hard to tell.

it could be your PVC system got oil in it, a common problem.
Id try that first if that doesnt fix it, there is a good chance its your rings.
could also try a compression test.

With forced induction you might want to try out Redline 10w40 or Amsoil 10w40, both of which should reduce your oil consumption.

Nope, you need a crankcase evacuation system on that asskicker. The oil vicosity is fine, any thicker and you're blowin' your feet off to run a marathon. You really could use a straight 5weight racce grade oil, and you'd have much better throttle response. That EVAC system would run a vaccum in your crankcase, and improve your ring seal, not to mention, you'd pick up some extra horsepower. Use a pump, not one of those cheap pieces of crap that run to the headers. I use a pump on my circe track cars. As long as you don't run too much vaccum, you won't have any problems. If you do, you can suck the oil out of you valvetrain, and collapse your oil pan. Here's a link to a place that sells a nice crankcase evac system.

You will have to have a bracket made to hook it up to your motor. I've been toying with putting this on my mostly stock 99' Z28 1LE, just to see how it would really wake up the engine, and go well with the low drag rings the LS1 uses. Moroso also sells a nice pump.

Here's a place that sells race grade sythetic oil. I use 0w-5. It is a really low drag oil, that has a high flash point, and doesn't burn, but it's $10qt.
