Chuck Norris can turn the engine with out a wrench, but regular peepz like you and me need a breaker bar. I broke a timing chain a long time ago in an LS1 NA setup, had to replace all the intake valves. And the starter cranked but nothing happened. You may have lost a bearing and then a rod welded itself to the crank, and stuff broke.

Drain the oil and cut open the filter? Thats where I'd start.

I asked him about his oil pressure and he said he had noticed it getting lower everyday, but thought that was normal. LOL!! Needless to say his motor seized up. Just out of curiousity we put 4 quarts of oil in and did not see it hit the oil dip stick until we put 5.5 in. To make a long story short he purchased a new shortblock and NOW knows to investigate every little change on his car.. I do hope yours is something simpler.
if your friend is that retarded that he doesnt know what a oil change is take his keys and tell him to step back from the car

I'd suspect a bearing issue, sorry to say. I had a similar problem with one of my turbo V6's, back when I didn't watch gauges very religiously. We did a H/C swap, ran the car w/o oil psi for about 10 seconds (faulty gasket), and afterwards I lost a starter. Then after the new starter, I kept blowing 125 AMP fuses when I'd try to start the car hot. Shortly after that I made one pass at the track, my buddy noticed a ticking, I was so happy it was fast that I didn't give a ****. Made another pass and tore the bottom end a new one.

I hope the best for you, I know how bad it sucks to break a newish setup.

Seems like a lot of people in this thread think it is bearing or bottom end failure related. Should Texas Speed (and their engine assembler) be the ones to blame? This motor MIGHT of had a measly 3k miles on it.

It's a race car bro. These things happen. It is never good, but is one of those things that we all expect any minute in the back of our minds with FI.

I though I was the only one, its one of the prices I hope not to pay but realized its the nature of the beast. Unless of course he finds something thats obviously build related. But a build issue should have reared its ugly head before now. Still hoping this works out.

That was back in 2001 when most were still learning. He took Cartek literally when they told him to just have the heads installed and the cam put in and find a tuner and just drive the car..

If it made it 3k miles, there is nothing mechanically wrong. Problems with an engine build show up almost immediately. Fast cars = fast money.
